CFFL Playoffs Round 1

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Well the CFFL playoffs are starting to look like the FBS Playoffs.  Basically not sure why we are playing the games.  Just stick Cocktails and Chislers in the Championship game like Clemson and Alabama.  None of the games were really close.  Only one came down to needing one score.  Rest were basically blow outs.

Dragons 36  Wrecking Crew 32 - GREEN BAY, WI -  Dragons pull the upset off against the Crew!  Crew were basically limping into the playoffs, with CMC missing 10 games Deebo Samuel out and cut and then CEH goes down with an injury late in the game with the ball inside the 5, needing one more TD for the win!  Kyler Murray did his part scoring 18 points and throwing one to Hopkins for a 10 point connection.  The Dragons got a surprising 2 TDs from rookie D'Andre Swift.  They now advance to the Semifinals for the second year in a row.  Crew lose in first round, second year in a row...

Swift for the Dragons telling the Crew crowd "shhh"

Chislers 42  Whales 25 - CHICAGO, IL-  Chislers coasted to a victory over the expansion team Whales.  This game got out of hand early as Chislers Allen scored 20 points on Saturday and then Henry and Cook both scored.  Even the great Patrick Mahomes couldn't bring back the Whales, even though he scored 13 points.  Who would have thought to start Bell and Bernard over Carson and Davis at RB for the Whales?  No one.  However if he had the Whales win by 1.  Disappointing production form their starting RB for sure.

Allen and the Chislers looking pretty unstopable

Krauts 50  Sinistars 39 - SEATTLE - The Krauts may have something to say about the above comment about Clemson and Alabama being Chislers and Cocktails.  They may be peaking at the right time.  Nothing like trading a player away, getting a draft pick for him and then beating the team they traded him to in the playoffs.  Krauts traded Sinistars Davante Adams for a 2nd round pick.  Krauts got 10 from Rodgers, 12 from Montgomery and 12 from Pollard, an unlikely duo at RB to score 24 points!  Sinistars were really let down by their team MVP Russell Wilson, who only scored 4 points.

Cocktails 56  Killers 27 - TAMPA - Killers didn't have a chance in this one, when Cocktail QB Tannehill scores 24 points setting the record for most points in a playoff game by a QB.  The previous record was 22 by Kirk Cousins in 2015 for the Mafia.  Josh Jacobs "Jingleheimer Schmidt" and Taylor both had TD runs in the win.  Killers rode his Buccaneers all the way to the playoffs, but ultimately relying on that many players from one team was hard to overcome.  Brady had 8 and Fournette did have 12 points.

Round 2 Preview:

Kretz Krauts at Cherry's Chislers (-12) - Boy the Krauts are getting no respect coming into Soldier Field as 12 point dogs to the Chislers.  Chislers are attempting to make it to their 12th Fantasy Bowl.  Krauts are looking to make their 3rd appearance in the Fantasy Bowl.

We all know what the Chislers are about.  QB Josh Allen and that running attack of King Henry and Prince Cook plus AJ Brown and Stephon Diggs "Dig Dug".  It seems this team can score at will.

The Krauts are a dangerous team that is hungry.  Having traded away Adams for a 2nd rounder and Gurley for a 3rd to the Killers, they could make it to the Fantasy Bowl and have extra picks in next year's draft.  This is completely opposite of what normally happens!  They are going to need to get production out of their RB duo of Montgomery and Pollard like they did this past week to have a chance.

Prediction:  Well I would take the Krauts plus the points, but I don't think they have enough consistent fire power to keep up with the Chislers to win.  Chislers win 43-33.

Molotov Cocktails at Monclova Dragons (+2) - The Cocktails get to stay in sunny Florida for one more week and just have to move across the state from Tampa to Miami to take on the Dragons.  With the Cocktails coming from Russia, there is a chance of having too much fun at South Beach, but with the threat of being shipped to Siberia if they lose, maybe not...(maybe that is why the line is so short. What does Vegas know?)

This is only the 3rd appearance in the semifinals for the Dragons as they try to make it to their first ever Fantasy Bowl. They have a tall task at hand playing the Cocktails and will need a big game from QB Deshaun Watson.  Would be nice to get similar production from RB Swift as well.

Cocktails seem to be on a mission and look to return to the Fantasy Bowl for the third time in a row.  I wouldn't expect Tannehill to score 24 points again, but the Cocktails can get points from anywhere.  Jacobs, Taylor, Tyreek Hill, Hilton, Andrews...

Prediction:  Easily take the Cocktails and lay the short 2 points.  Cocktails will prove to be too much for the Dragons and win easily as we will have a rematch of FBXXXIV between Chislers and Cocktails (Chislers won 46-31).
