CFFL History: Fantasy Bowl III

1987 would see the CFFL finally reach it's current level of 16 teams.  But the season would see it's season shortened due to labor disputes and a strike among players.  It would only be a 9 game season as the CFFL refused to play "scab" players.

The defending champion Stooges would return to the playoffs but exit in the 1st round to the Terrors.  But the Jennifer's Jewels would upset the Terrors in the semi-final round 40-38 to make it to Fantasy Bowl III to take on the Bums.  The Jewels would be known to run an unorthodox type team, drafting Refrigerator Perry as a RB, not making any changes in her lineup for weeks.  But whatever she did, it worked as they would beat the Bums in Fantasy Bowl III 35-29.

Jerry Rice was league MVP scoring
an incredible 23 TDs in the shortened season!
