CFFL Week 4

Week 4 is in the books and two division are beginning to have some serious separation...

Game of the Week: Bums 44 Killer Bees 42
Charles was in Charge with 3 TDs!
This game didn't look like it had a chance to be interesting as the Bees got another 4 TD performance out of Luck, who is the leading scorer after 4 weeks with 58 points.  Not to mention 2 more TDs from Lamar Miller.  The Bums came into the game under investigation for not making lineup changes as they had a QB on bye (Wilson) along with their Defense (Broncos).  However it apparently didn't matter.  Going into Monday night the Bums were down 40-26 with Jamaal Charles "In Charge" and Edelman.  But you never know with Jamaal Charles who had a 5 TD performance to knock out the Chislers in last years playoffs.  This year the Bums got 3 TDs from Charles to come back and beat the Bees and earn a much needed win to move to 2-2 one game back of the Crush.

Top Team of the Week:  Mayhem 67 Crush 24
It was truly Mayhem in Michigan as they rattled off 67 points against the Crush!  It helps when your defense scores 3 times (Eagles).  The Mayhem always seem to find high scoring defenses (prior years had Ravens of old).  But they didn't even need those 18 points as Stafford put up 14, Eddie Royal "Flush"had 12 and Randy Bullock kicked in 11.  Gore's knee got a TD and Torrey Smith rose from the dead to catch a TD pass.  It was no match for Brees who had a rough day and only threw for 2 TDs and production from the Crush came only from Jeffery "I WIN" and Sammy "Davis Junior" Watkins.
Eagles D tallied 18 points!

Who is this guy??
Players of the Week:  Eagles Defense, Mayhem; Jamaal Charles, Bums; Matt Asiata, Cocktails
Three players earned player of the week status.  As mentioned earlier the Eagles D of the Mayhem had 18 points as did Charles of the Bums.  However there was a third.  Matt Asiata "Cheese" scored 3 TDs for the Cocktails and has filled in nicely for Peterson.

Around the League...The Animals showed they were a team to be reckoned with as they dispensed the Juggernauts relatively easily 41-26 lead by 15 big points from Nick "The Dick" Novak and 2 TD catches from Antonio Brown.  Brown has 5 TDs on the season already and made his second game in a row with 2 TD catches.  Juggs couldn't get anything going with, what they thought was a great trade for a 10 point connection of Foles and Maclin as they turned up goose eggs...
Brown has been money past 2 weeks!

The scene at Crew Stadium Sunday
The Crew after starting 3-0 and seemed to rolling right along hit a road bump and managed to fall completely flat against the Krauts 42-19.  No production from their RBs and only one TD from their power TE lineup spelled doom.  Krauts made Crew pay for their ineptness as Rodgers beat out Cutler 16-8 while TDs from Morris, Hopkins and White completed the Blitzkrieg....

Mafia sent a message to the management of the Titans that must have got them scared as they fled to New York and made no line up changes losing 35-11.  Mafia got 24 points just from Matty "Ice" Ryan and Steve "Hood Rat" Smith.  When Mafia ownership was asked why they thought Titans didn't make any changes they simply replied "I dunno what ya talkenabout.  We would do no such things to alter such outcomes.  Forgettaboutit"

The Dragons were the victim of another late game comeback, this time to the hands of the Sinistars.  Dragons got a surprising double digit day from Roethlisberger to take a 26-6 lead into the Sunday Night game.  Sinistars had Murray and Williams of the Cowboys and struck gold with them getting a combined 24 points taking the lead 30-26.  Dragons couldn't get anything from Colston.  Sinistars threw in a 10 point connection for good measure as Brady hit Gronkowski for a TD late Monday...
Murray ran all over Dragons

The Roulette won an ugly one against the Ferrets 19-13 and basically beat them with their kicker Blair Walsh "Project"'s 15 points.  The Ferrets had the Roulette on a weak week as Broncos were on bye thus no Peyton Manning and no Wes Welker.  However the Ferrets mad scientist owner decided on a Redskin experiment loading up on Washington players; Cousins, Darrel Young (who?), Garcon, and Niles Paul. Well as Ferret Law goes the Redskins stunk it up on Thursday Night, Cousins looked terrible, Niles Paul got bee bee'd...well you get the picture...

The new leaders of the Ferrets??
Took 4 weeks but the Chislers showed they still have some fight in them yet.  They took down the expansion Cocktails 50-39 a game that got a little closer than expected.  The Green Bay Chislers finally lived up to preseason expectations scoring 26 points (Lacy, Nelson, Crosby) and "Jugghead" Rivers threw for 12 points.  The Cocktails probably had their best game getting a crazy 18 points from Asiata "Cheese" and 12 from Romo.  However it wasn't enough and they fall to 0-4.

So what is happening in the standings after 4 weeks?

In the North the separation has begun as the Wrecking Crew and Animals are tied at 3-1 while the bottom half of the division has the Ferrets and Chislers at 1-3, but the season has a long way to go. Look for the the Chislers to look a little more like last week and less like the previous 3 weeks.

Similar situation in the East as the Roulette (4-0) and Krauts (3-1) begin to pull away from the Juggernauts (1-3) and Molotov Cocktails (0-4).  Roulette get Manning back rest of the year so they will be the team to beat in the east.

The South and the West are a bit more compact as the South has three teams tied for first at 2-2, and even the Titans are only a game behind at 1-3.  Bees still the best offense in the league despite their 2-2 record so don't expect them to sit back for long and start to pull away in the east...the West is log jammed too as the Sinistars (3-1) have only a one game lead over the rest of the teams who are all 2-2.

Power Rankings:

1. Russian Roulette 4-0:  Get Manning back, only undefeated team in the CFFL

2. R.C. Wrecking Crew 3-1: Momentary lapse this week.  Still boasts a strong line up.

3. Georgia Killer Bees 2-2: Unlucky record with two losses scoring 42, 36, 50, and 42 points.

4. Kretz Krauts 3-1: Are the Krauts back?  Having Rodgers helps

5.  Stamm's Sinistars 3-1: Only one week below 29 points. Brady yet to pull his weight

6. Alex's Animals 3-1: Post 41 and 34 points past two weeks. Might have best WRs (Benjamin, Brown and Demaryius)

CFFL Week 3

This week saw our share of lopsided victories and a few big comebacks....

The Blowouts:

Roulette 44 Chislers 15
Manning is undefeated with the Roulette
Moscow, Russia - The Roulette dropped the Chislers to 0-3 as it appears that Chisler luck has run out.  Roulette were lead early by Julio Jones' two TD catches on Thursday and they really never looked back.  Rookie kicker Catanzaro had 11 and Manning had 9.  And to for good measure the Roulette Bear defense put a little salt in the wound with the Chislers done, put 6 more on the board.  The Green Bay Chislers combined for a whopping 1 point (Crosby, Nelson, Lacy).

Mafia 26 Mayhem 9
Tampa, FL - Mafia had little trouble with the Mayhem as they too took an early lead with Matt Ryan's 12 points on Thursday.  That would have been enough to beat the Mayhem but got 6 more from DeSean Jackson and 8 from Hauschka.  Mayhem got no points form Stafford, Gore or TY Hilton and had 12 points on the bench by Eddie Royal.

Killer Bees 50 Crush 22
Pasadena, CA - It was killer bee season in the Southern California woods this time as they destroyed the Crush getting scoring from all but one player and their D.  Andrew Luck had 16 points and Bradshaw, Victor "haven't scored a TD in 357 days" Cruz, Cecil "Eat my" Shorts, and "Orange" Julius Thomas all had TDs.
Beast Mode's 2 TDs help Dragons back on the Winning Track

Dragons 35 Bums 18
Dragons still bitter about the preseason predictions and their pitiful performance the prior week took it out on the Bums.  The running attack lead the way as the Dragons got 12 from "Beast Mode" Lynch and Reggie Bush.  The win ties them with the hated Bees in the South and drops the Bums to a game behind the Sinistars and Crush in the West.

Sinistars 29 Titans 7
Seattle, WA - Things seem to be getting back to normal in the CFFL as the Titans dropped their second in a row and only scored 7 points after scoring 30 or more the past two weeks.  Sinistars did it with little help from pretty boy Brady (4 points), however his one TD pass went to Gronkowski for the 10 point connection.   They also got production from their Cowboys Murray and Williams each scoring a TD
Gronk and Bibi...always having fun...

The Comebacks:

Animals 34 Cocktails 23
Cocktail fans were not happy!
Leningrad, Russia - The Molotov Cocktails took an early lead in this one as newly acquired Harry "Balls" Douglas scored an early TD and they would hold this lead to the bitter end leading going into Sunday nights game 19-16.  However this is where the Animals were unleashed as they tallied 18 points on Sunday night (12 from Antonio Brown and 6 from Kelvin "Private" Benjamin). This team from old Leningrad wasn't called Molotov Cocktails for nothing for after the Animals onslaught, the game had to be delayed due to fans chucking said team name's explosives onto the playing field.

Cutler and Bennett hooked up twice!

Wrecking Crew 41 Juggernauts 28
Rome, Italy - The Juggernauts had build a nice 28-12 lead going into Monday night thanks to 12 points from Foles and 10 from Bailey.  Crew had only got 12 points from Bernard.  Things would have to go just right Monday night as the Crew brought in their Chicago Crew of Cutler, Bennett and Gould.  However with the Juggs fielding Marshall it would be imperative that Cutler not throw to Marshall.  The result?  Crew hit on not one but two 11 point connections as Cutler hit Bennett for 2 TDs.  "And that's all she wrote".

Ho Hum Game of the Week:
Krauts 21 Ferrets 14
Berlin, Germany - Not much to write about this this game  Ferrets really never in, specially when the only Kaepernick TD pass went to Kraut WR Crabtree...

Player of the Week - Andrew Luck, Killer Bees - 16 points.
Andrew Luck helped the Bees dispense the Crush as he threw for 4 TDs in the victory.

Standings are close after 3 weeks with most teams only a game out of first in their divisions.  There are only 2 teams at 3-0, the Crew and the Roulette.  Crew lead by their Chicago Crew and power jumbo formation of 3 TEs, and the Roulette lead by Manning and Julio Jones and the surprise Knile Davis...The Bees, despite their one loss, lead the league in scoring and have totals of 42, 36, and 50.  Watch out for this team...Only 1 team hasn't got their firs win and surprisingly its the Chislers, the perennial power house.  Hard times have fallen on the Chislers as their Green Bay connections has disappointed thus far.  Will they be able to turn it around has yet to be seen.

CFFL Power Rankings top 3:

1. R.C. Wrecking Crew 3-0

2. Russian Roulette 3-0

3. Georgia Killer Bees 2-1

CFFL Week 2

Week 2 in the books and the season begins to take shape. The week began with remembrance of 9/11 around the leauge...
In remembrance of 9/11 firefighters climbed Crew Stadium

Comeback Game of the Week:  Killer Bees 36  Titans 34
Luck lead the Killer Bees Comeback
Last week the Bees were on the losing end of the Comeback Game of the Week by one point. This week it would be a little different against a surprisingly strong Titan team (what's up with that?).  Titans started Josh McCown,..yes that's right McCLOWN.  Well he was playing the Rams.  It proved to be the right move instead of Alex Smith..McCown threw 3 TD passes for the Titans while Smith had zip.  6 more from Ingram, Harvin and even the Patriots D and it looked like the Titans would start 2-0!  Bees countered with Decker and "Orange" Julius Thomas (4 TDs already on the season).  Gostkowski kicked in a huge 12 points for the Bees to make the score 34-24 going into Monday night.  The Bees would need a little Luck to pull this one off. And Luck is what they got.  Needing 3 TD passes from Andrew Luck, the Bees got it and this time did not come up short winning 36-34!  The Titans did have a good game and it will be interesting to see if this is the year they shake the title of joke of the CFFL...

Rivalry Game of the Week:  Wrecking Crew 50 Chislers 29
Graham hauled in 2 TD passes
The longest bitter rival between brothers wasn't as exciting as some contest but was bitter non the less.  The Crew drafted counters in Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates to counter Chisler QB Phillip "Jugghead" Rivers.  Gates was drafted in the 9th round of the draft.  Chislers drafted players such as Matt Schaub (dropped), Jennings, and Danny "Stiff" Woodhead with Gates still on the board.  The TE attack of the Crew proved to be the big difference as GATES! had 18 points and Graham had 12 and Bennett had 6.  Owner of the Chislers, Rick Cherry, was bitching the whole time on if he had drafted Gates.  But the Crew started Tony Romo instead of Cutler since the Bears were in SF.  Turned out Cutler scored 16 points to Romo's 4.  The Romo experiment has ended and the Crew promptly traded him.
3 Juggheads still weren't enough

Gates one hand grab for 1 of his 3 TDs
Player of the Week: Antonio Gates - Wrecking Crew 18 points
Gates had a huge game catching 3 TD passes in the victory over the Chislers.  The experts were ready to write off Gates, but he proved he is not done yet! On a side note the Juggernauts benched Brandon Marshall who caught 3 TD passes and would have won the game for the Juggs.

Rodgers says "What do you want from me?"
Around the League...The Animals held off the Ferrets in OT as the Ferrets got a late game TD from Maclin to tie the game, unfortunately they needed 2 from Maclin to pull off the comeback.  The Animals prevailed in OT with Nick "The Dick" Novak kicking in 12 points for the victory...The Krauts were finally successful invading Russia as they took over Leningrad beating the Cocktails 45-29.  Krauts were lead by three double digit scorers in Rodgers (13), Morris (12), and "Mother Tucker (14)...However the Italians were not so successful as the Roulette defended Moscow beating the Juggernauts 25-11.  Peyton "Forehead" Manning lead the Roulette with 12 points.  The story of the game was leaving Juggernaut Marshall and his 18 points on the bench...After scoring 43 points last week the Dragons managed only 10 points versus hated rival Mayhem losing 34-10.  Mayhem was well balanced getting TDs from Frank Gore's Knee, Shady McCoy, the Cards D, and 12 points from Kicker Bullock...The Crush eeked out a win 18-16 over the Sinistars moving to 2-0.  Drew Brees had a pedestrian 8 points and rookie Sammy Watkins scored a TD...The curse continues for the Mafia, predicted to win it all as they fall to 0-2 losing to the Bums 30-7.  Cobb lead the Bums with 14 points and Russell Wilson continued to be consistent scoring 8...
Manning aka Megamind

Key Games Next Week:

Ferrets at Krauts - a rematch of Fantasy Bowl XXII which the Ferrets lost to the Krauts 38-28 in their only Fantasy Bowl appearance.

Chislers at Roulette - Chislers 0-2.  Roulette 2-0.  Huge game for the Chislers to not drop to 0-3 and will be a tall order as they travel all the way to Moscow and take on Peyton Manning.

CFFL Week 1- 30th Anniversary Kickoff!

Owners gather at the Kilt
Here we go!  The CFFL's 30th season.  It all started with a memorable draft at the Tilted Kilt complete with Kilted lasses, giant draft board, Fantasy Bowl XIX trophy presentation (which later in the night a drunk bride wanted to drink out of), beer, food, fun and lots of laughs.  This was all to prepare us for another fun filled action packed season of Fantasy Football!

CFFL draft with Kilted Lasses!

Game of the Week:  Dragons 43 Killer Bees 42
Lynch went Beast Mode on the Bees
This game from the opening quarter looked like it would be a blow out as the Dragons attacked quickly with 2 Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch TDs to take a quick 12-2 lead.  This would continue throughout the day on Sunday as the homer kicker Caleb Sturgis would kick in 15 big points, Big Ben would add 4 and Zach Ertz, the big talk of the league, would add another score.  For good measure in the second half the Dragons would add a defensive TD from the 49ers.  Score was 43-10.

"Jim Fiest, or whoever does the preseason predictions can suck it!" said owner Randy Freeman of the Dragons after being picked to miss the playoffs this year.

But soon things would turn late Sunday night.  It started out with "Orange" Julius Thomas catching not one, not two, but THREE huge TDs for the Bees!  Suddenly the Dragon's owner was nervous.  He was already claiming they lost even though they still had a decent lead.  But the Bees weren't done as they got 14 more points from Andrew "Jebediah" Luck.  Now this game was certainly in question and the Dragons only held a 1 point lead going into Monday Night 43-42.
Luck brought the Bees back!

Monday Night would put the Dragons Reggie "Pan down I want" Bush vs. Victor "Salsa" Cruz and Eric Ebron.  The game went on and on with no scores.  Then late in the 4th quarter with time running out the Lions were driving.  Both Bush and Ebron were in the game. This certainly would be the game.  As luck would have it for the Dragons neither player scored and the Dragons hung on for the win!

Comeback and Roster Move of the Week: Wrecking Crew 28 Animals 27
Cutler connected early with an 11 point play!
While this game wasn't as thrilling as the Dragons vs. Bees match up it certainly had an interesting ending.  The game started out with a bang as the defending Fantasy Bowl champs connected on an 11 point play as Cutler hit Bennett for a TD and Gould added an extra point.  It looked like the Crew picked up right where they left off, but Cutler would only get one more TD pass and Gould would add 7 points and that would be it, 22 points.  Nothing from the Running backs.  The Animals countered with 5 from Malachi Dalton and 10 big points from Shayne Graham "Cracker ass cracker" and a TD catch from Antonio Brown.  Score was 22-21 Crew hanging on.

Private Benjamin
Late in the second half the Animals got a TD catch from Kelvin "Private" Benjamin who looked like a man among boys out there.  This guy is going to be a beast!  Score was now Animals 27 Crew 21.  It was time to start dodging bullets like Neo for the Crew as they went up against Demaryius Thomas who didn't score (Thank you Julius).

Monday Night would come and the Crew staff were agonizing over if they should leave Gates in despite his hamstring.  They decided at the last minute to bench him in favor of Malcom Floyd.  So it would be the Floyd brothers pitted against each other as the Animals had Michael.  It started out with both Gates and Michael Floyd catching all kinds of balls.  However it would be Malcom that would be the only one to score a TD, a game winning TD at that for the Crew as they prevailed 28-27!
Malcom Floyd catches game winner for Crew!

Player of the Week:  "Orange" Julius Thomas - 18 points - Killer Bees
Thomas was the beneficiary of Peyton Manning this week, catching 3 TDs in a losing effort against the Dragons.
"Orange" Julius scores one of his 3 TDs!

Megatron snares in a TD
Around the league...Ferrets took care of business in week one defeating the Chislers in impressive fashion 30-14 thanks in large part to Calvin "Megatron" Johnson's 2 TD catches.  This coupled with the fact that the Chislers, known as the Green Bay Chislers or the San Diego Chislers, only got 8 points from their 5 players who played for Packers and Chargers....Roulette's Manning lead the Rooskies to victory over the Krauts in Berlin.  Manning's 3 TD passes was the difference.  Krauts were not happy only getting 4 from their new leader Aaron Rodgers...The Juggernauts had little trouble with the Cocktails in Italy.  This wasn't hard considering the Cocktails started a QB that wasnt even playing (Johnny Football).  The Bell Brother experiment by the Juggernauts proved valuable as both "Labia" and Joique Bell scored...Titans completed the Freeman sweep this week as they surprised the Mayhem 30-20.  Ryan Succop booted in 14 points for the Titans.  The Mayhem made it slightly interesting, but just ran out of time as Stafford threw for 15 points late in the game...Out west the Sinistars took the lead early and never looked back against the Mafia winning 37-22.  The Mafia was playing scared anyway after being predicted to win it all, a death sentence in the CFFL to the likes of the Madden Curse or the SI Cover curse.  Matt Ryan and Ryan Hauschka were the only players to score for the Mafia.  Sinistars benefited from the Bengals "Ted" Nugent's 15 points (lots of stalls in that game)...The Crush played a tight game against the Bums and were lead by Kicker Matt Bryant (13 points) and Vernon Davis (12 points).  They opened the game up late on Monday night as Rashad Jennings scored and then later Ryan "Glass Collar Bone" Mathews scored to put the game away 41-24.
Not sure if Mike is as crazy as Ted!

What to watch next week:
Big rivalry games next week will be the Wrecking Crew vs. Chislers and Dragons vs. Mayhem.  The Crew vs. Chislers is Brother vs. Brother and is the longest standing rivalry in the CFFL and dates back to the very beginning 30 years ago.  These teams play twice a year and have even faced off in 2 Fantasy Bowls, each winning one...Dragons and Mayhem have been facing off since the Dragons brought the Mayhem into the league in 2002.  Friends off the field but bitter rivals on the field.  These two should be great match ups.
A familiar sight...
That's why its called the CHERRY Fantasy Football Leauge

CFFL 2014 Preview

North Division

Well the past three Fantasy  Bowls have been won by North Division teams.  Will that trend continue?

The R.C. Wrecking Crew will be defending their title and it will not be easy.  They will be doing it without Brandon Marshall, but returning will be Jimmy Graham.  Graham will pick right up where he left off last season with his 96 point year.  The Big shock was at QB where they picked Romo with their second pick and then Cutler with their third.  Rumors have it that Cutler will get the nod and have the 11 point connection of Cutler to Bennett to Gould.

Jugghead is back!
The Chislers who are the prior 2 season Fantasy Bowl Champs have once again put together a decent team and should battle for the playoffs.  Phillip "Jugghead" Rivers is back once again.  In fact, Rivers has been a Chisler in 5 of the past 7 seasons.  Truly a lifetime Chisler.  Eddie Lacy returns and had a great rookie campaign.  Look for more of the same with Lacy.  It would seem the Chislers moved their operations from San Diego to Green Bay (home of the Crew by the way) as they have Lacy, Nelson, and Crosby.  So any trips to the Redzone by the Packers and the Chiz is happy.  Lots of Packer, Charger, Vikings games on in the Bunker I suspect.

Malachi or Dalton??
Alex Animals have actually started to put some decent teams together and make some playoff runs as of late.  Andy "Malachi" Dalton will lead this Animal team.  He had a great year last year and looks to get back to the Fantasy Bowl (made it there with the Bums and lost) and win it this year.  It will help having Demaryius Thomas back at wide out and he hopes to follow up his 14 TD catch season with another 10+ TD season.  Add in a healthy Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin and you have a decent 1-2-3 punch.

Oh those pesky Ferrets, always biting and scratching trying to win a Fantasy Bowl.  Well this will be their 30th try!   The Bizlat is back, Colin Kaepernick, and hopes to have a slightly better season then last.  Plans to move him around the pocket more to get him some more TD runs is what the Ferrets would like.  The Ferrets will be coming in big in the passing game too with Calvin "Megatron" Johnson who is always a threat to score 12 TDs or more, add in a healthy Jeremy Maclin and a 10 point connection potential in Stevie Johnson and this team could make some noise.

Division Winner: Cherry's Chislers (why not, safe bet)
Potential Playoff Teams: Alex Animals
On the Bubble: Crew and Ferrets
Outlook:  It will be a tight race once again as the North teams beat each other up all year.  The dreaded home and home series (Ferrets vs. Crew and Chislers vs. Animals) will have a big impact on the playoffs.  Chislers prevail once again. But this could be anybodies division to win and will depend on if the Bear connection proves valuable for the Crew, if the WR of the Ferrets live to expectations or if Malachi can kill some people in the corn fields...

Eastern Bloc Division

Manning getting frustrated...
The Eastern Bloc Division looked to expand its power in eastern Europe by expanding their Russian teams with the addition of the Molotov Cocktails.  Get ready for the Mother Land Rivalry.

The Roulette are coming off of a disappointing season from last year when they failed to make it to the Fantasy Bowl with Manning, Peterson, and Johnson.  This year Manning is back and the cast of characters they assembled for him are not quite the same as last year.  If they do make it back to the playoffs they will have to do it through the air, since their RBs are a bunch of rookies and handcuffs.  And the preseason is not exactly starting out right as Wes Welker got slapped with a 4 game suspension for PED use.

The new rival for the Roulette is now the Molotov Cocktails from St. Petersburg, Russia, formerly known as Leningrad.  They replaced the long time Twins, and were promptly moved to the cold Mother Land.  Adrian Peterson didn't have to move too far, just a bit north from Moscow.  He will be the key to the success of the Cocktails.  As will Arian "Nation" Foster as long as he can avoid the injuries that have plagued him last year.  If he does, that is a very nice backfield.

Foles and that dude from Napoleon Dynamite
Down in Italy, the Juggernauts are putting together a pretty good team.  Nick Foles at QB will put up some big points in Chip Kelly's system. Then you have two towering bookend WRs that should be in the 10+ TD range this year.  Brandon Marshall and Dez "Fez White" Bryant.  Both are big strong WR that will get plenty of TD catches this season.  The running game will take a little time to take off, but should be pretty high when all said and done between the Bell brothers (Le'Veon and Joique).

It has been a cold and miserable past 2 years in Berlin.  The Krauts are looking to try to get back in the playoffs, but it won't be easy.  Well one thing is for sure Aaron Rodgers was a step in the right direction.  He should be back for a full season and is a top tier QB.  Alfred Morris is hoping to get back on track and get back to the 10+ TD season he had as a rookie.  Crabtree, Roddy White and Kyle Rudolph all should be decent starts at WR.  Looks like the ovens might stay cool come December...

Division Winner:  Juggernauts
Potential Playoff Teams: Roulette and Krauts
Staying Home: Cocktails
Outlook:  The Eastern Bloc had been ruled by the Krauts for years, but the teams have caught up to them.   Juggs look like they have the most well rounded team in the division.  Can't count out the Roulette as long as Manning is playing.  I can't believe the Krauts would miss the playoffs for a third year in a row.  Molotov Cocktails will be heaved in Leningrad.

Sad Sack South

I don't want to seem like I pick on the South each year, but damn they prove it each and every year.  This year 3 of the 4 teams were all picking from the same computer and software....whats up with that?

McCoy likes the snow
Michigan Mayhem were one of the Three Stooges who were all picking from the same computer and program.  Somehow they managed to put together a somewhat decent team with Stafford at the helm.  As long as he stays healthy he can put up some big points, despite how bad the Lions get.  LeSean McCoy is a big threat in the backfield as well and certainly knows how to run in the snow.  He thrived under Chip Kelly last year.  The WRs would be somewhat of a question but has huge upside, specially with T.Y. Hilton.  I like the Golden Taint 10 point connection possibility too.

Killer Bees for some reason are becoming a hated team in the CFFL.  Maybe its because they no longer come to the draft, hold up the draft online, and continuously disobey roster rules (3 QBs or 3 Kickers...) Andrew Luck is solid and returns to defend the South Crown.  However the RBs are not good..maybe the worse in the league; Bradshaw, Gerhart, Lamar Miller?  Seriously? Good thing for the Bees that they have Julius Thomas to balance some of that out, not to mention one of the top kickers and defense (Gostkowski and Seahawks) Yes I talked kicker and defense for a second.

what the hell??
The Dragons was the Moe of the Stooges and with the loss of Aaron Rodgers, had to go with Big Ben Roethlisberger and back up Tannehill (Homer).  Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch is a great add as might be Knowshon Moreno (homer) both were over 10 + TDs but Moreno now in Miami might reduce his production.  Hartline and kicker Caleb Sturgis round out the  homer filled Dragons.  CFFL eyes will be on Zach Ertz who's expectations are high.

And then we come to the Toledo Titans, who were 1-13 last year.  Now wouldn't you think if you were 1-13 you would look for an entirely different team?  Instead the Titan's must have been so happy with their 1-13 team they drafted the exact same RBs form last year.  Monte Ball, LeGarrete Blount and Mark Ingram were all Titans last year.  None did much but there are some expectations that Ball will be good.  A.J. Green is the teams lone star.

Division Winner: Michigan Mayhem
On the Bubble: Killer Bees
Staying Home: Dragons and Titans
Outlook: The Mayhem have traditionally have had the best success in the division while the Freeman Brothers tend to not, specially the younger one from the Titans.  With McCoy, Stafford, Hilton and Golden Taint the Mayhem have the fire power this year to win this sad sack division.  Its pretty amazing the Titans drafted the same exact running backs as last year....1-13!

Wild Wild West

Charles wants to get back to FB
The West might be the best division in the CFFL with the return of the Sinistars to the west.  Any one of these teams could win the West.

Last year's runner up Barcardi Bums will be a force to reckon with this year as they attempt to make it back to the Fantasy Bowl. Jamaal Charles will again anchor the attack.  Carlos Hyde might get more goal line carries as the season goes on.  Keenan Allen and Randall Cobb will give the Bums plenty of chances through the air along with Russell Wilson.  Kenny Britt might have been a bright spot as well until Bradford went down for the count.  So hopes for Britt not so bright.

Drew Brees returns to the Crush and when you have Drew Brees on your team, playoffs are certainly a good possibility.  The rest of the teams are players that are around the 5-7 TD range and could have big years or might not.  Ryan "Glass Collar Bone" Mathews and Jonathan Stewart could put up some points.  Stewart plays for the 4 headed hydra called the Panther backfield though.  Alshon "I WIN" Jeffery had a good season last year and should put up some big points again.

Forte for the Mafia
Mark's Mafia might be the most traveled team in the CFFL with flights from southern Florida to the west coast every year. Matt Ryan, Matt Forte, Larry Fitzgerald, DeSean Jackson, Steven Hauschka. This sounds like a pretty nice group of players doesn't it?  Well that's what the Mafia will be rolling out come opening day.  Its yet to be seen how well they will play, but if historical statistics tell us anything this team is loaded. Not to mention Andre Ellington who looks to get a lot of touches in Arizona.

The Sinistars return to the West after a brief stint in the Eastern Bloc and was tired of the travel from Seattle all the way to Berlin and Moscow every year.  They plan on giving a new meaning to the phrase "Run Coward" as they used their first 2 picks on RBs; DeMarco Murray and Zac Stacey.  Murray was a Sinistar last year and ran for 10 TDs.  Zac Stacey emerged as a starting Ram RB and had 8 TDs.  Heavy reliance will be on Gronkowski as he returns from his injuries.  He will need to produce since "Commissioner" Gordon is suspended.

Division Winner: Mark's Mafia
Potential Playoff Teams: Bums and Crush
On the Bubble: Sinistars
Outlook: This division could go to any of those teams and all of them could make the playoffs.  A very strong year for the West, but look for the Mafia to come out on top with the Bums not too far behind.  The Crush, as much as it pains me to say, will likely make the playoffs too.  Boooooo!

Season Outlook:  The Animals go deep in the playoffs only to come up short once again....Ferrets have to wait 31 years now...Titans win 2 games...Roulette and Manning struggle this year but sneak in...3 teams have a real shot at the Fantasy Bowl XXX title:  Juggernauts, Chislers, and Mafia...
