CFFL Week 11

Week 11 already?  Only 3 to go in the regular season!!

Game of the Week: Roulette 41 Dragons 35
The Dragons have been involved in a lot of close games and this was their 5th Game of the Week this season!  This week they were facing the fading Roulette.  It appeared that they would be in good shape after Cam Newton's 20 point performance.  Kenny "Crosby" Stills "Nash and Young" scored a TD and "Todd Chontos" Santos kicked in 9 points.  The Roulette would counter and got their big connection of Ryan and Jones going... oh wait it was the "other" Jones, James Jones.  Ryan had 12 and James Jones had 8.  Up 35-29 the Dragons were hoping to get a cushion on Sunday Night with Michael Floyd, but he ended up inactive with a hammy.  Going into Monday Night they would only need to worry about LeSean "Shady" McCoy.  McCoy would score on a dive to the pylon to tie the game at 35!  In OT it went to Home Team Roulette's back up Nick "The Dick" Novak who had 6 points for the Victory.  There is rumors the Dragons Owner Randy Freeman will be petitioning the removal of the Pylon Cam as well as OT rules...
McCoy scores!!!

Bums 21 Chislers 9 - As goes the Chargers and Rivers so goes the Chislers apparently.  While facing the Bums who had a benched "Chinless fuck" Foles starting at QB, Rivers came up empty and Chislers only scored 9 points.

Romo is happy to be back, and so are Animals!
Mafia 35 Wrecking Crew 5 - Mafia whacked the Crew big time.  Crew couldn't score any points if their life depended on it.  Mafia got 12 from Eifert along with TDs from Stewart and Evans.  Eifert now has 11 TDs and leads the CFFL in TD catches.

Animals 31 Sinistars 2 - And I thought the Crew's 5 points was pathetic... well it was but the Sinistars 2 points were more pathetic.  Animals' Hopkins continues to impress snagging 2 TDs Sunday and with Tony Romo back, throwing 2 TDs, do the Animals have enough time to make a playoff run?

Crush 18 Ferrets 16 - The Crush held on, sweating out Monday night as the Ferrets only needed 2 TD passes from Brady, who hasn't thrown less than 2 TD passes since Week 4.  Well this week would the Crush's lucky week as Brady only managed one TD pass and Crush came away with the W.

Juggernauts 24 Mayhem 19 - Juggernauts pull the big upset defeating the top team in the league.  18 points on Sunday night from "Heat Miser" Dalton and kicker Catanzaro won the game for the Juggs.  They have quietly put themselves in the playoff hunt at 5-6.

Killer Bees 46 Krauts 16 - Things are heating up in the Krauts camp as they dropped their second in a row.  This week the Bees had no problem led by 20 points from rookie Jameis Winston and 12 points from Lockett.

Cocktails 35 Titans 33 - The Cocktails did their best Neo impression on Sunday Night dodging bullets in the shape of Giovani Bernard as Jeremy Hill got the carries inside the 5 and scored twice while Bernard did not score.
Cocktails were Neo!

With 3 weeks to go many of the Divisions are still in question... In the North the Ferrets sill have a 2 game lead and a win this week and a Chisler loss will clinch the division for the Ferrets.... The Mayhem have all but clinched the South with a 3 game lead over the Bees and Dragons with 3 weeks to go... East still wide open with a game separating each team with the Cocktails in first with game lead over Krauts... West looks like it will be between Crush and Mafia as they are tied at 7-4 with the Sinistars and Bums trailing them by 2 games.

CFHL Week 4

Week 4 action in the CFHL....

Goon Crew vs. Mayhem on Ice 4-2
The Ginger Twins
Goon Crew get back on winning track beating the Mayhem on Ice soundly in all offensive categories.  Beat them by 6 in goals, by 6 in assists and a whopping 25 in +/-.  Daniel Sedin, one half of the Ginger Sisters, earned Number One Star of the Game tallying 5 goals!  Antti Niemi was solid in goal for Mayhem, getting 2 wins and a SV% of .979 which single handedly beat the Crew's net minders Crawford and Mason.  Final PIM from Sedin Sunday night gave the Crew the 4-2 win.

USSR vs. Checkers 3-3
The Soviets and Checkers skated to a 3-3 tie for the week.  Goals were close and the USSR edged them by one goal led by Tarasenko and Pacioretty who each had 3 goals.  Malkin led the Checkers with 3 goals and the other half of the Ginger Sisters, Henrik had 2 goals and 6 assists.  Key to this game was that the Checkers benched one of their many Kings, the Zombie, Anze Kopitar, who had 2 goals.  Had he started the Checkers might have won.  Martin Jones, goalie for USSR earned the weeks' Number One Star with 3 wins and .951 SV%.

Krampus Carols vs. Who Gives a Puck 4-2
Tis the season!  It continues to be Krampus season as they have now moved into #1 in the league with the 4-2 victory over the defending champs Who Gives a Puck.  Despite the loss, the Puck had two players with 3 goals each, including Brent Burns who added 2 assists and 6 PIM.  Krampus had a solid all around week again including amazing play at the blue line with 2 goals and 3 assists from Karlsson and 2 goals and 4 assists from "Captain" Shattenkirk, and 2 goals and 2 assists from Justin "Marshall" Faulk.
Oh those crazy Krampus fans

Assassins vs. AshBusters 4-2
The Assassins had a big week moving to only 1 point from the Norris Division lead behind the Checkers.  The Assassins racked up 21 assists for the week including 4 from Ryan Sutter.  Number One Star honors went to Pavelski who had 3 goals, 2 assists +4 and 4 PIM.  While the AshBusters didn't win on the offensive side  of statistics, their Goalies were impressive getting 4 wins, 2 each from Holtby and Jake Allen.

CFFL Week 10

The Season is quickly coming to a close as we look at Week 10 action:

Game of the Week: Chislers 29  Crush 28
Has the Chisler luck begun?  Is it another beginning of a run to the Fantasy Bowl.  The Chislers are now 5-5 and in the thick of the wild card race after winning a thriller over the Crush.  Crush held the lead 28-17 and seemed to be on their way to victory.  But once again, Lee Corso's head pops up and says: "Not so fast my friend!" The Chislers late in the day on Sunday would get a cheapie sideways 10 point connection as Alex Smith hit CharcandRICK "Cherry" West for an 80 yard TD! This made the game 28-27.  Only one point behind it would come down to the Crush TE Jimmy Graham vs. Chisler D Cardinals.  It can only be Chisler Luck as Graham didn't score at all and the Cardinals got a rare safety which won the game for the Chislers!!
Game winning safety

Titans 12 Roulette 10 - Really?  That's all they scored.  A lot of teams are saying "Why couldn't I play one of those teams this week". The Roulette fall to 5-5 and need to get it in gear to make a run at the playoffs with Ryan and Julio Jones.

Dragons 57 Krauts 33 - Dragons exploded for a fifty-burger on the Krauts.  3 players for the Dragons were in double digits.  Newton had 10, Michael Floyd had 12 and "Todd Chontos" Santos had 17! Dragons are now 5-5 and in the playoff hunt.

You can dance if you want to...

Juggernauts 25 Killer Bees 21 - Thankfully the Juggs didn't need Dalton to win this game on Monday night.  Getting 12 from Cooks and 13 from kicker Catanzaro helped the cause.

Hoyer gets knocked out
Mayhem 19 Cocktails 16 - The Cocktails, who have been known to be cocky, spoke to soon thinking it shouldn't be a problem getting just one TD pass from Hoyer on Monday Night to win.  Well the Mayhem knocked Hoyer out of the game in the 3rd quarter ending the Cocktails hope for a come back.  But it seems when they lose so do the Krauts, so they are both still tied for the lead in the East.

Mafia 26 Ferrets 14 - Mafia got all the points they needed from Kirk Cousins (16) to win this game.  Ferrets had a disappointing week only getting points from Brady and their kicker Nugent.

Sinistars 33 Wrecking Crew 22 - The Sinistars had little trouble defeating the Crew as they got 17 points from their kicker Hopkins.  The Crew running game continue to be an issue as they came up empty again.

Animals 47 Bums 31 - The Animals played like they thought they should have all year.  They got 14 from Antonio Brown and 12 from Langford.  DeAndre Hopkins added the icing on the cake with a TD late Monday Night.
Brown scored 14 points!

With only 4 more weeks to go, lets take a look at the playoff race...

NORTH - Ferrets would appear to be in the driver seat with a 2 game lead over Chislers but you never know when Chisler Luck is in play.  Chislers in the wild card race, but also not out of winning the North.  Crew and Animals just playing the season out...

SOUTH - The Mayhem quietly have the best record in the CFFL at 8-2 and have a 3 game lead over the Dragons in the South.  Most likely a lock for the South Division.  Dragons have moved to the thick of the playoff hunt.  Bees not entirely out of the Wild Card race either, but need to get on the winning track.  Titans being Titans.

EAST - Arguably the best division in the CFFL.  The Cocktails and Krauts are neck and neck at 7-3 at the top of the division.  This could come down to Week 13 showdown between Cocktails and Krauts.  Don't count out the Roulette either at 5-5 if they can capture the magic of Ryan and Jones of earlier this season.  Juggs are on the outside looking in.

WEST - The race for the West Division Crown is a tight one with Mafia and Crush tied for first at 6-4 and Sinistars only a game behind at 5-5.  And even the Bums not out of it at 4-6 only 2 games back.

CHFL Week 3

Week 3 action in the CFHL:

Krampus Carols vs. Goon Crew 4-2
The Krampus stuck the Crew in their sack and beat them with a stick!  Crew only managed 4 goals to the Krampus' 13.  The Krampus had 3 players who netted 3 goals a piece.  (Perry, Karlsson, and McDonagh).  Number One Star was Ryan McDonagh who had 3 goals and a +7.  Seguin had a disappointing week getting no goals for the week.  The win keeps the Krampus in first place by 9 points over Mayhem in the Smythe Division.
McDonagh had 3 goals!

USSR vs. AshBusters 3-2-1
The USSR snuck away with a win after getting beat up 28-8 in PIM by the AshBuster, led by Landeskog's 10 PIM which included a suspension after a cheap shot hit to the head.  This game was won between the pipes as USSR got 4 wins from Jones and Schneider in net beating out the 3 wins by Holtby and Dubnyk.  Saturday was the big day for the USSR as they got 5 goals and 4 assists to keep them in the game. Both teams are looking to improve on their poor start to the season thus far.
Landeskog's cheap shot

Who Gives a Puck vs Assassins 3-2-1
The Puck bounced back after last week Cherry Cup winners match beating the Assassins in a close one.  They both tied in Goals, but Puck got the Assassins by 6 in assists, only 1 +/- and 10 PIM.  Goon of the Game was "Chubby" Byfuglien who had 14 PIM... big surprise...  Klingberg had a top notch week for a blueliner with 2 goals and 3 assists for the Assassins.

Delta Bravo
Mayhem on Ice vs. Checkers 3-2-1
A lack luster performance for the Checkers coming off the big win last week vs. the Puck.  This allowed the Mayhem to come out victorious, but really winning only PIM and both goalie categories.  That wasn't hard to do with Lundqvist and Niemi...well basically just Lundqvist who had all 3 wins and a SV% of .956 versus Quick and Halak who only had 1 win between them.  Number One Star of the game...Johnathan Toews.  Why?  He had a goal, 2 assists, +3 and 9 PIM.  But mainly because of this:

CFFL Week 9

Here is Week 9's action in the CFFL with 2 Games of the Week!

Game of the Week 1:  Juggernauts 39 Dragons 37
This was the third Game of the Week for the Dragons, this time however it didn't end well for the Dragons this time.  Dragons were flying high with 18 huge points from Cam Newton and 12 from homer RB Lamar Miller.  This put the Dragons up 36-33 going into Sunday Night Football.  They had to survive the Juggs combination of McFadden and Matthews all Sunday night.  The Eagle/Cowboy game went into overtime.  The Dragons looked like they have survived.  "Not so fast my friend!" as Lee Corso would say.  In overtime Jordan Matthews caught a 41 yard TD pass to win the NFL game in OT and to give the Juggs the victory!
Matthews scores the winning TD!

Game of the Week 2:  Wrecking Crew 52  Bums 34
When you look at that score you wonder why is this the game of the week?  Well I will tell you why!  The Crew, determined to keep Carr in the line up despite Brees suddenly not the noodle arm of earlier in the season, got 2 10 point connections from Carr to Crabtree to help them get a 34-32 narrow lead going into the Monday Night game.  Now the Crew would have to suffer all Monday night hoping Gould wouldn't get more than 3 points.  Just a FG would win it for the Bums.  Gould would line up for a FG easily in his range... shank.  Second attempt even closer...DOINK! off the upright!  He would get 2 XP to tie the game but on the last Bear drive they went for 2.  In OT the Bums who were at home had a kicker on bye and Foles the chinless fuck came up with goose eggs.  The Crew had Drew Breese who scored 18 points to give the Crew a rare road OT win.
Crabtree and Carr hook up for 20 points

Mafia 36 Chislers 17:  Mafia took the early lead on Thursday with 18 points from Eifert and never looked back.  The Chislers Charger connection was disappointing Monday night getting only 11 points out of 4 players not to mention Floyd went down early with an injury.

Rivers dreaming of past Fantasy Bowls...

Crush 54 Animals 37: The Crush rolled over the Animals with 3 players in double digits for the game:  DeAngelo Williams 14, Richard "The other" Rodgers 12, and Josh Brown "Eye" 14.

Wonder how many other leagues had Walker starting
Ferrets 27 Sinistars 24:  The Ferrets survived an average day from Brady (8 points) to win the game.  It wasn't easy as Team Owner Tim Wening missed good part of the game getting a flat tire on way to the stadium.  If the Sinistars could have managed one more TD pass from Cutler they could have won the game.

Mayhem 42 Roulette 26:  Roulette magic from earlier in the season seems to be fading.  Ryan only had one TD and Julio Jones had none.  Mayhem had big games from 2 names that in other leagues probably wasn't even starting:  Cassel (12) and Delanie Walker (14).

Cocktails 44 Bees 29:  Cocktails get back on track defeating the Bees easily and they needed to, to keep pace with the Krauts.  They got scoring from every one except Rudolph and their Defense.  They will be with out Luck for the next few weeks however.

Krauts 35 Titans 8:  The Titans... well Titans being Titans again as the Krauts sent them to the ovens.  Rodgers had a big game with 17 points and the Krauts join the Cocktails, Ferrets, and Mayhem with the best record in the CFFL at 7-2

No real reason... other than a nice pic... go Raiders...

CFHL Week 2

Seguin had 4 goals
The second week of many to come in the CFHL!!!

Goon Crew vs. AshBusters 3-2-1
The Goon Crew got back on track vs. the AshBusters.  The Goon Crew was in good shape most of the week until Thursday when the AshBusters went nuts getting 4 goals, 3 assists and a +2 for the day while the Crew only got 2 PIM.  Seguin earned Number One Star of the game netting 4 goals, 3 assists a +2 and 2 PIM.

USSR vs. Assassins 3-3
Checkers mascot firing up crowd
After a dismal start to the season the USSR bounced back tying the Assassins for the week.  Game was close all week long.  Kane for the USSR earned Number One Star of the game as well as the Number One Star of the week getting 4 goals, 5 assists, a +6 and 2 PIM.

Checkers vs. Who Gives a Puck 4-2
In the battle between the only teams to earn a Cherry Cup, the Checkers showed the Puck why they have 3 cups and Puck only has 1.  Once again the Checkers were led by all their Kings, first and foremost was Jeff Carter who had 3 goals, 2 assists, +3 and 2 PIM.  Bobrovsky in net for the Puck had 2 wins and an impressive .947 SV%.

Krampus Carol vs. Mayhem On Ice. 3-2-1
The Krampus was out in full force as the holiday season approaches and a movie about the team is ready to hit the theaters.  Corey Perry had 2 goals and 3 assists to go along with his 4 PIM for Krampus.  Sid the Kid didn't help the cause much getting a pathetic -7 for the week.

The new Krampus Carol Team Video

Norris Division:
Checkers are back with their King led team and after 2 weeks have 17 points at 8-3-1 while the Assassins are 3 points behind him for top spot.

Smythe Division:
Krampus Carols are out to a good start with 17 points with the Mayhem 8 points behind and the USSR and AshBusters 9 points behind already.

CFFL Week 8

The Final Home and Home series games:

Game of the Week:  Ferrets 38 Wrecking Crew 37
The Crew almost pulled off the upset of the week leading the Ferrets going into Sunday Night 37-32.  But it still looked unlikely the Crew would hang on being that the Ferrets had Lacy, Sanders and Daniels.  Carr matched Brady's 16 points surprisingly.  Ferrets got just one TD out of all those players as Lacy plunged into the end zone to win the game for the Ferrets by 1.  Now had the Crew started Drew Brees this wouldn't had been nearly as close.  Brees had 28 points!  "Despite his impressive week we are riding the season out with Carr," said Crew owner Roy Cherry.  "Got to give him the experience"...
Lacy scores game winner

Sinistars 32 Bums 21 - Sinistars swept the Bums and are right back in the thick of it at 4-4 tied with Mafia and Bums, only 1 game behind Crush in the West.  Cutler led the way with 10 points.

Crush 37 Mafia 14 - Crush had no problem this week with the Mafia, sweeping them led by 24 big points from Eli Manning.  They now lead the West by one game.
Manning threw 6 TD passes!

Dragons 47 Titans 23 - The Dragons sweep their brother Titans and are in the playoff hunt at 4-4 with the sweep.   "Bend it like" Beckham led the Dragons with 3 TDs!

Mayhem 30 Bees 10 - The Mayhem avoided the sweep to remain in first place in the South.  Mayhem got 12 points from Edelman and 6 from Fitzgerald and the Giants D.

Juggernauts 32 Krauts 15 - The Juggs got a little revenge by surprising the Krauts getting a well rounded game; 6 from Allen (lost for the season), 6 from Kelce, 6 from Olsen and 10 points from "Can't stand ya" Catanzaro.

Roulette 24 Cocktails 21 - Looks like Mother Russia is still up for grabs as the Roulette avoided the sweep by defeating the Cocktails.  The victory puts the Roulette only 1 game back in the East while the Krauts and Cocktails lead the division at 6-2.

Chislers 44 Animals 23 - Suddenly the Chislers seem to be back and primed to make yet another run after the sweep of the Animals.  12 from Rivers and 12 from Austin certainly helps.  CFFL better look out for the Chislers and their patented Chisler Luck.

Look out. Rivers looks passed...

CFHL Opening Week

Been out of town so here is a brief update on the first week in the CFHL.

Assassins over Goon Crew 4-2:  Assassins won a close one that was back and forth all week.  Pavelski had 3 goals while Kleinberg and Stone had 3 assists each.  It didn't help the Crew when Getzlaf got hurt in the first game of the week.
Pavelski had 3 goals!

Krampus Carols over USSR 5-1:  Krampus Carols sacked and beat the Russians.  The USSR was a pitiful -15 in the +/-.  Taylor Hall was Number One Star of the game with 2 goals, 5 assists, and a +5.  Corey Perry was his normal D-bag self with 11 PIM.

Who Gives a Puck over Mayhem on Ice 4-2:  Who Gives a Puck began their Cup title defense with a tight win over the Mayhem.  Mr. Burns and Vrbata led players with 2 gold, whole Little and Nash each had 3 assists.  Mayhem was led by Toews 3 goals.... and we all know what that means...
Toews girl Lindsey Vecchione

Checkers over AshBusters 4-1-1:  The Kings led Checkers (what else is new) got 5 goals (3 from Toffoli), 8 assists, and an impressive +13 from their King players including 2 wins from goalie Quick.
Toffoli tallied 3 goals!

Match up of the Week:  Who Gives a Puck at Cherry's Checkers
Battle between the past Cherry Cup Champions.  Puck led by Giroux and Nash.  Checkers led by their team of Kings.  Puck has a early 4-2 lead with 2 goalie wins already.
