The league would see many teams changing, teams like the Spuds, Potatoes and Mooches entering the league or changing their name. But in 1988 the story was what would happen in the post season. The Crew would capture their first North Division title only to loose to the Jewels in the semi-finals 26-21. Yes that is right, the Jewels would return to the Fantasy Bowl.
Joining the Jewels would be another female run team, Amy's Astronomicals. They finished the season 7-6, would defeat the 11-2 Crickets in Round 1 22-16 in overtime and then the Bums 23-8 in the semis. They would complete their quest beating the defending champ Jewels 40-17! This would mark the second year in a row a female run team would win a Fantasy Bowl.
