CFFL History: Fantasy Bowl I

It was 1985.  The President was Ronald Regan.  Coke introduced New Coke, brutal.  Live Aid Concert was conducted in July. And the CFFL was born.  Born out of a book purchased by Wrecking Crew owner Roy Cherry off of a school book order form called Cliff Carpenters' Fantasy Football Guide.  At the young age of 14 he knew he would need to turn this over to his older brother, the current CFFL Commissioner and owner of the Cherry's Chislers Rick Cherry.

A draft that was held the morning of Week 1 of the NFL season with 6 people would require after the draft to make two more teams, Columbus Scrubs and the Toledo Scumbags, out of players remaining.  During the season the only results could be received from the Monday morning newspapers.

Clark's Crickets, owned by "Big Whit" Kevin Clark, were South Division Champs with a 9-5 record.  They would face one of the scrub teams, the Toledo Scumbags, who finished 7-7 as a wild card.  The Crickets would be victorious winning 34-11 in the very first Fantasy Bowl!

Joe Morris led all non kickers with 21 TDs
Wish I remembered which team he played for...
