CFFL History: Fantasy Bowl XIV

Manning's first game!

In 1998 the CFFL saw the Chislers shatter scoring records, setting most points in a regular season with 609, a record that would stand until 2011.  88 points in one game and 79 in another, both still stand as the top two performances in a game.  It helped having Randal Cunningham, Randy Moss and Cris "Sad Eyes" Carter.  But they wouldn't win the North.  Fez's Ferrets would be North champs behind league MVP Steve Young.

The Chislers would beat the defending champ Twins in the first round in a thriller 48-41. They would beat the Apes in the semis 43-29 dispensing the second team that was in the 1997 Fantasy Bowl.  The Chislers would take on the Martin's Maulers who narrowly beat the Ferrets in Round 1 21-17 and then steam rolled the Bums 54-24.

Jamal Anderson celebrates a Fantasy Bowl Win

Even with Carter and Moss scoring in the the Fantasy Bowl, the Chislers would come up short as the Jamal Anderson led Maulers would win Fantasy Bowl XIV 43-27.
