CFFL History: Fantasy Bowl XII

1996 saw a long standing team change it's name due to the social issues in the community.  Once named Randy's Rebel, it was time to make a change and become the Cabucki Crush.  What the hell is a Cabucki?? This wouldn't be the first time this happened.  Back in 1994 one of the original franchises changed their name in hopes to change their fortunes.  The Wening's Wimps changed to the Fez's Ferrets.  It did not change their fortunes...

The Twins would return to the Fantasy Bowl for the second year in a row.  They would defeat the Geriatrics in Round 1 25-16 and the Strikers 17-11.  They would move onto Fantasy Bowl XII to face their division rival Bell's Bombers.

The Bombers were a new team in the league and came right out of the gates fast, making the playoffs and defeating the Ferrets and Mafia on the way to Fantasy Bowl XII.  They played with the Twins in the East, along with the Fireballs and the Jackals.  Jackals, who entered the league the prior year would become the perennial doormat to the East.  Their fist year they used the number one pick of the draft to take Troy Aikman, which was greeted with a chorus of laughs.  Aikman, in this league was never a good fantasy QB.  This would be signs to come for the Jackals, but I digress...
Terry Allen of the Bombers

The Bombers would defeat the Twins 34-20 winning Fantasy Bowl XII in their very first year in the league! Terry Allen, Bombers' team MVP, scored 3 times in the Fantasy Bowl win!

John Elway of the Bums
was the 1996 CFFL MVP
with 140 points
