CFHL Week 5

Well here is re-cap of last weeks action as we finished up the 5th week of a very very long season...

Game of the Week:  AshBusters 4  Checkers 3

In a game that was closer than it appeared if you stayed up to the wee hours of Monday morning / Sunday Night.  The Checkers were looking like they were on their way to a come from behind victory as Quick and the Kings were heading to victory holding a shut out through nearly 2 and half periods.  Quick however would then give up 2 goals late in the 3rd period preventing the Checkers form winning the SV% and the game!

Mayhem on Ice 4  Who Gives a Puck 2:  Apparently the Puck wasn't happy with Vasilevskiy's 2 win, .968% performance and dealt him away the next day to the AshBusters.  Evander Kane had 2 goals, 2 assists and 6 hits for the Mayhem in the win.

Krampus Carols 4 Goon Crew 2:  The Goon Crew's goalies who were number one and three stars last week ended with just 1 win and .865% SV% as the Krampus handed them their first loss of the season.  Phil Kessel led the Krampus with 3 goals, 3 assists, and a +4 on the week.

Assassins 5 White Mambas 2:  The Assassins held on versus the Mamba led by strong net play from Murray and Talbot surprisingly (3 wins .937 SV%)

La Femme Nikita 4 USSR 2:  The USSR finally got the goalie play they have been waiting all season for from Dubnyk and Holtby.  They combined for 5 wins and .945 SV% but it wasn't enough.  The +20 by Nikita was tough to overcome.

Number One Star:  Nikita Kucherov, La Femme Nikita, 2 goals, 5 assists, +4, 3 PPP, 2 hits

Number Two Star:  Braden Holtby, USSR, 3 Wins, .952 SV%

Number Three Star :  Phil Kessel, Krampus Carols, 3 Goals, 3 assists, +4, 1 PPP

Goon of the Week:  Ekman-Larson and Ovechkin, Crew and AshBusters, 12 hits each
