CFFL Week 13

Tis the Season....The Playoffs are almost here!  One week to go and the playoff picture is starting to clear up, but will take the final week to decide the final playoff spots.  Here is how last week went:

The Top Three:  Sinistars, Wrecking Crew and Roulette (combined 32-7)

1 of Murray's 3 TDs
The Sinistars have only one loss and just can't seem to lose.  This week they hammered the struggling  Juggernauts 55-29.  Juggernauts have dropped two in a row and are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.  The Sinistars are hitting on all cylinders.   Stafford had 12, DeMarco Murray had 18 and Josh "Commissioner" Gordon had 12 more.  The defense even threw in another TD (Chiefs). The Sinistars have the number one seed in the playoffs locked up.  This may not be a good thing as history has indicated in the CFFL.

Superman he has been lately!
On a rivalry weekend in the  NCAA it was also rivalry weekend  in the CFFL as the Brother Rivalry squared off once again.  Think, Bears vs. Packers, OSU vs. UM, Bruins vs. Habs, Lakers vs. Celtics.  The Crew swept the Chislers winning 39-27 in a game that was meaningless in the playoff race.  Cam Newton lead the way with 14 points and has proven worthy of his 1st round selection as of late.  Fred Jackson had 12 points for the Chislers and made it interesting, but the Crew prevailed adding one last TD from Graham on Monday night.

Foles...little too late
Out of the three, the Roulette was the only one that lost.  With a team that has Peyton Manning, Peterson, and Calvin Johnson they have 4 losses and at 9-4 would be good enough to win most divisions, unfortunately they are in the same division as the Sinistars.  This week they ran into a buzz saw in the Krauts, losing 52-41.  The Krauts are basically out of the playoff hunt, and most teams are glad considering how they are playing.  Nick Foles has been amazing lately and had 12 points. Jennings had 12.  Kicker Tucker had 16 big points too.  Despite the loss the Roulette have locked up the #5 seed as the number one wildcard team.

Player of the Week:  Eric Decker, Killer Bees - 24 points
Eric Decker had a huge week scoring 4 TDs in the Killer Bees 40-21 victory over the Titans.  Decker alone was enough to beat the Titans.  Decker only had 3 TDs prior to this.  On a side note, Manning now has 41 TDs already for the Roulette.  Thought that was impressive enough just to note!
Manning and Decker combined for 4 scores!
Season about over for Twins
Around the League...The Crush defeated the Twins 20-14 and have tied the Bums for first in the West after the Bums have dropped their last 2. One more win by the Crush and they win the Division...Bums lost their 2nd in a row, this week to the Mafia 46-26.  Mafia put on quite a performance with 12 from Palmer and 12 from an unlikely source Steven "Stiff" Jackson....Mayhem defeated their division rival Dragons 30-16 and have pretty much smashed the Dragons playoff hopes....Animals kept their playoff hopes alive defeating the Ferrets 25-10.  Alshon "I WIN" Jeffery had 12.  Animals just need to win next week and hope the Juggernauts lose, and they are in.
