Some NFL Thoughts at Week 13

Okay, maybe this will just be Ram thoughts, but who cares...

First of all, I don't know about you, but I am so sick and tired of hearing about how great these rookie and new QBs are.  RGIII farts smell like roses...Russell Wilson is the next Jim Zorn...and Kaepernick?  He must be Steve Young reincarnated?

Well let me tell you some things.  Bring them all on!  Take a look at what the Rams have done.  Yeah they aren't exactly in the thick of the playoff hunt and they certainly are not an exciting and explosive team to watch.  But against those wannabees I mentioned above 3-0-1.

In Week 4 Russel Wilson had a passer rating of 45.8 as the Rams defeated them 19-13.  In Week 2 the Rams defeated RGIII 31-28.  And then the rivalry of Rams vs. 49ers the Rams knocked Alex Smith out of the game and played Kaepernick to a 24-24 tie in San Francisco.  This past week they defeated the Kaepernick lead 49ers 16-13 in OT in St. Louis.  So ESPN you can suck it!

Now I know the Rams aren't contenders and Bradford certainly doesn't seem to be the answer in St. Louis, for there has been way to many mistakes for a 3rd year vet and for the most part has been out played by the rookie QBs this year.  But the Ram defense has to be mentioned in conversations.  They rank 12th in pass defense and 13 in run defense.

And please can we just go back to the old Blue and Yellow throw back jerseys?  2-0 wearing those the past 2 years, with a stunning upset of the Saints last year followed by the upset of the 49ers last week.

While there will be no playoffs once again for the Rams, beating the 49ers this year made my year, and being 4-0-1 in the divisions right now is promising.  Now the undefeated status could be in jeopardy as the last week of the season the Rams travel to Seattle, a brutal place to play.

In other thoughts around the NFL I am seeing a Patriot vs Bronco AFC championship game.  Another Manning vs Brady match up to add to the history books.  Broncos have been looking very good, and the offense for the Patriots is scary....Nice back to back wins by the Browns defeating the Steelers then the Raiders on the road.  Weeden and Gordon seem to have some chemistry...I think the Saints are done.  For a minute I thought they might make it interesting, but with back to back losses to the 49ers and Falcons hurt them, plus how bad did Brees look throwing 5 INTs (Favre on bad day).
