Dickerson's Record Stands!

This was the closest anyone has come to breaking the great Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record that was set in 1984, 2,105 yards. Adrian Peterson finished with 2,097 yards, only 9 yards short of breaking it. His final run of that game he almost got it and if he had scored that TD he would have done it.

So I thought this would be a good time to remember Dickerson and his historical year and compare the two season of Peterson and Dickerson. Dickerson was a beast in his own right. A gazelle really. His long strides and upright running style was something no one ever seen before. He was 6-3 and 220 lbs. A combination of speed and power. He was a beauty to see run. Once he got into the secondary it was over.

Adrian Peterson, at 6-1, 217 lbs is a pure physical specimen. Pure muscle and ran more like the Earl Campbells and Walter Paytons...no one really wants to tackle him. But he also had the speed and the moves that could make people miss like Barry Sanders.
