CFFL Week 1

The season is underway after the Animals accepted their trophy and had the home opener to start their defense of the Cherry Fantasy Football League championship.

Greg the Leg picking up right where he left off
In the North...The Animals, despite the frenzy crowd and the unveiling of their Championship banner, came out with a Fantasy Bowl hangover losing to the Chislers 41-22.  It took till late in the game before the Chislers took command of the game getting 29 points from Goff, Gurley and Zuerlein (15) in the final few minutes of the game...The Ferrets started the season firing on all cylinders as every player scored except one.  Only Walker didn't score and was due to breaking his ankle.  The Ferrets had to have some sort of week one injury or it wouldn't be a Ferret season.  The Crew were pathetic and Stafford was even worse in the 40-22 loss.

In the South...Aaron Rogers put together a warrior like performance late in the game to bring the Killer Bees from behind to defeat the Mayhem 29-20.  Rodgers threw for 12 points on one leg.  Mayhem got very little production form any of their offense and 16 of the 20 points were from special teams...The Dragons take game one versus their brother Titans 40-21 led by Philip Rivers' 13 points.  Looks like the Dragons were smart in stealing Rivers from the Chislers in round 1.

In the East...The battle of the Mother Land commenced at Leningrad as the Cocktails hosted the Roulette.  The Cocktails defended their home in quite a battle 44-37.  The Roulette looked on helplessly during the Chiefs game as Cocktails had Mahomes (16), Kareem Hunt, Sammy Watkins and Tyreek Hill (18)....And the Krauts continued their dominance over the Juggernauts winning 37-26.  Cousins "Keith" led the way with 8 points including a 10 point connection to Rudolph and Justin "Mother" Tucker kicked in 11 points.  They did have a set back as Fournette went down with an injury that could nag him for a few weeks.

In the West...The Crush were able to hang on against the Killers 30-27.  The Killers were not disappointed in their Saints draft picks Brees and Ginn as they combined for 21 points.  Unfortunately for them one of Brees TD passes went to the Crush's counter Michael Thomas.  Killers got an early score form Lynch to close the game to within 3 and needed just one more Lynch score to win but he couldn't find the end zone the rest of the night....Nothing like wasting a 20 point performance from Kamara for the Bums as they lost to the Sinistars 45-26.  The Sinistars got 12 points from Russell Wilson and 12 points from James Connor, who was the pick up of the week.

Impressive performance in a loss
MVP of the Week:  Alvin Kamara, RB, Bums - 20 points.
