With the first wave of Divisional games finished it was on to
inter-divisional play. East vs. North. South vs. West. How
did the division do in the first week of the inter-divisional play? Well
read on sons of a beeaaccchh..
East vs. North
In the battle of maybe historically the two toughest divisions,
the East took the first week 3-1...
Juggernauts 22 Wrecking Crew 21...in a lackluster game
between the Juggs and Crew the Juggs edged the Crew by 1 point. Crew
needed one last TD from either Baldwin, Decker or Evans in the four o'clock
games but couldn't manage to get it. 8 points from the Juggs/Vikings D
was key to the Juggernaut victory.
These three guys combined for a lot of points! |
Roulette 65 Chislers 40...Roulette had this game won before
Chisler owner Rick Cherry could sit down as they hit on an early 10 point
connection with Rodgers to Adams. Roulette got 16 from Rodgers, 17 from
kicker Hopkins and 14 from Hyde. Tough to score 40 points and lose.
Cocktails 38 Animals 10...The Cocktails had little trouble
in defeating the Animals who came out flat in front of their home crowd in
Buffalo. Cocktails had a balanced attack getting points from everyone
except Maclin and their Defense.
Ferrets 31 Krauts 22...The Ferrets were the only team from the
North to get a win from the East in the first week of the East vs. North
battle. 12 big points from Nelson helped the Ferrets get the victory.
However Lacy still can't find the endzone. A goose egg from Big Ben
didn't help the Krauts. Ben looked a little nervous after the game with the
showers looming...
South vs. West
The West swept the South...which isn't all that surprising.
And none of the games were close...
Mafia 47 Mayhem 30. How do you lose when your QB scores 12
and your defense gets 2 scores? You lose when that's all the points you
get except 6 from your kicker while your opponent gets 24 points from their
backfield alone. The Mafia backs Blount and Johnson combined for 4 TDs.
Winston hit for 12 points for Crush! |
Crush 49 Bees 15...The Crush remain undefeated are looking sharp
in defending their title. 12 from Winston, 12 from McCoy and 13 from
"Mother" Tucker was impressive. Bills D scored again as well.
Bees could find little offense as only Pryor (yeah Pryor) and kicker
Gostkowski scored.
Bums 32 Dragons 21...Dragons can't be happy with the result of
this game. Not only did they lose, but the Bums had two Dolphin WRs
Parker and Landry to score against them, while Stills came up empty.
Cairo Santos "Todd Chontos" kicked in 6 points.
Sinistars 35 Titans 18...After scoring 38 points last week, the
Titans returned to a more Titan like performance scoring 18. Sinistars
finally got some good production from one of the Allen Brothers, Robinson.
The Sinistars are becoming the Patriots of the CFFL as they win with
anyone in at QB, this week it was Brissett. Let's see how next week plays
out.
Player of the Week: Dustin Hopkins, Kicker, Roulette - 17
points
Hopkins just kept kicking FGs! |
It seemed like every time we peered around the wall at the TV in
the corner of the Bunker Hopkins was kicking a FG.
On to Week 4 of the CFFL!!
Long live the eastern bloc!
