CFFL Week 8 Review

8 weeks in the book and the dreaded home and home series are finally over.

Pryor runs for 92 yards and the win!
Game of the Week: Twins 23 Mafia 17
Yes this was a game between two teams pretty much out of the playoffs with 3 wins between them.  But it ended in thrilling fashion!  Late in the game (late Sunday  Night) the Twins were down 17-11 when Micah Hyde returned a punt 93 yards for the Packers to tie the game at 17-17.  In overtime Terrelle Pryor scampered for 92 yards and a TD to win the game for the Twins!!

Comeback of the Week: Killer Bees 33 Mayhem 30
In a see-saw battle that saw the Mayhem take the lead with 14 points from their Kicker Mason "Consolidated" Crosby 30-21 it looked like it was all over.  Only player Bees had left was Golden "Taint" Tate.  One TD wasn't going to be enough down 30-27.  But Tate would get a second TD late in the game (and was a real dick about it) and with no time left the Bees won 33-30.  This game's box score was a strange one with 41 points scored from both their kickers and defenses.

Marvin "Garden" Jones 4 TDS
Player of the Week: Marvin "Garden" Jones - 24 points - Chislers
The Chislers needed every one of those 24 points, well maybe just 12,  as they split the home and home against the Animals 46-31.  The 24 points made it a lot easier to watch "Beast Mode" Lynch play on Monday night, but as it turned out Lynch couldn't crack the goal line once.  The win puts the Chislers still 3 games back but back to .500 at 4-4

Performance of the week:  Wrecking Crew 56 points
The Crew swept the Ferrets beating them 56-29, which at one point looked like it might be a game at 26-16 but the Ferrets could only manage points from their QB, Kicker and Defense.  The Crew got double digit scoring from 4 players (Newton-14, Gore-12, Graham-12, Bailey-12).  Newly acquired Jimmy Graham was happy to be back with the Crew who he spent his past two season with and didn't show any signs of his planter peanut foot bothering him.

Newton and Olsen hook up for 10 pts
Man that dude knows how to party
Around the League: Crush prevent the sweep as Drew Brees was back racking up 20 points in the Crush's 39-28 win over the Bums, tying them for first in the West at 6-2.  Malachi's 20 points were fro naught for the Bums...Dragons cruise to a 31-9 victory in their bye week over the Titans.  2 10 point connections from Rodgers to Nelson were key. The win helps them stay 2 games back of the Bees...Titans are a hot mess...Sinistars keep rolling and sweep the Krauts 27-15 staying one game above the Roulette. Sinistars were lead by Stafford's 10 points (6 of which came with 12 seconds left in the game)...Roulette kept pace with the Sinistars beating the Juggs 37-33. The Big Three for the Roulette finally all hit on the wheel,  Peyton Manning threw for16 points this week, Peterson had a TD and Calvin Megatron Johnson had one as well...

What the heck...Go Twins!
