CFFL Week 7 Review

As we are at the mid point of the season and smack dab in the middle of the dreaded home and home series, here is how Week 7 went, and where we stand after half of the regular season is in the book.

"I WIN!"

In the North:  Animals 40 Chislers 25 and Wrecking Crew 27 Ferrets 19
The North see the Wrecking Crew begin to pull away from the rest in the North moving to 6-1 and a three game lead now.  Frank Gore's knee lead the way with 12 points this week as the Ferrets continue to struggle finding the right mix of stiffs...The Animals put up a 40-burger over the defending champ Chislers.  The Animals were well balanced getting scoring from every player except the defense and Alshon "I WIN" Jeffery.  Animals actually have the best offense in the North and could make a run...

Megatron scored 2 TDS
In the East:  Roulette 31 Juggernauts 11 and Sinistars 29 Krauts 21
The East its between the Sinistars (6-1) and the Roulette (5-2).  The Roulette easily dispensed the Juggs and got some big production from Megatron (12 points) and of course Peyton Manning (12 points).  With those two plus Adrian Peterson, the Roulette should continue to roll and will set up a big match up at the end of the year with the Sinistars.  Speaking of the Sinistars, they came from behind late in the game with 11 points from Josh Brown "Eye" to defeat the Krauts despite 12 points from Vincent "Price" Jackson.

In the South:  Killer Bees 39 Mayhem 19 and Dragons 41 Titans 24
Rodgers had no problem vs the Titans
The Bees are beginning to run away with the division at 5-2 and hold a 2 game lead right now over the Dragons.  The Dragons were hoping for some help from the Mayhem as the Dragons playing his brother the Titans really have a 2 week bye in this home and home series.  Can never count out Dragons with Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson who combined for 18 points this past week.  Bees who for years had had Brees now lands Andrew Luck who has proven to be a fantasy star.  He earned player of the week award with 18 points this week. Going to be hard to catch the Luck lead Bees.

Malachi is ready for the Corn fields!
In the West: Mafia 43 Twins 23 and Bums 34 Crush 15
With the home and home series pitting 5-1 Crush vs. 5-1 Bums is how it should be.  Advantage to Bums as they take the first game in impressive fashion. Malachi Dalton played like he should  scoring 12 and as long as Jamaal Charles continues to have his career year they may  take game 2.  Brees will be back for the Crush next week making this the game of the week.  Twins and Mafia playing for the basement of the West.  What has happened to the Twins?

Players of the Week: Matt Forte and Andrew Luck - 18 points
Andrew Luck are leading the Bees to a 2 game lead in the South.  Matt Forte had a rare 18 points for the 2 win Mafia.
Luck tallied 18 points!

Mid Season Awards:

Manning having amazing year
Top Player: Peyton Manning - 106 points - Roulette.  Yeah that's right, 106 points! that's 36 more than the next player on the list (who is a kicker).  Manning has two weeks of 20+ points.

Top Running Back: Jamaal Charles - 48 points - Bums.  Charles "In Charge" is having his best fantasy year yet tying his career best  TDs of 8 already and its only week 7!

Top Wide Receiver / TE: Julius Thomas, Bums and Wes Welker, Crush - 48 points.  No surprise that top wide outs are Broncos.  Interesting they play for divisional rivals in the West.

Top Kicker: Matt Prater - 70 points - Killer Bees. Yet another Bronco.

Top Defense: Bears and Chiefs - 30 points (Bees and Sinistars).  No surprise the Bears are at the top here but the Chiefs were a surprise.

What to look for in the second half of the season....Can the Crew keep winning?  Well they may have to when fighting off top offense in the North Animals and the luck of the Chisler...With the line up of the Roulette they are still the odds on favorite to make it to the Fantasy Bowl and don't count on Manning sitting at the end of the season if the Chiefs keep winning....Dragons will challenge Bees, but will not be easy as long as Luck keeps playing like he does.  But you can't count out Rodgers...but on thing you can count on or out is the Titans, who have yet won a game.  Will they win a game?  Who knows.  There has never been a winless season...could this be the first.  Epic battle next week with Crush and Bums going round 2 and this time Crush have Brees back.  Both teams have a shot going deep in the playoffs. Again what happened to the Twins???  Oh wait..here they are!
