CFFL Week 6 Review

Stafford Celebrating again!
Not a lot of exciting action this week.  Some blow outs.  Some close scores.  No come backs.....Here's how Week 6 ended up...

Top Team of the Week:  Sinistars 49 over Crush 26
The Sinistars stomped the formally undefeated Crush as Stafford tallied 16 points and DeSean Jackson finally showed up scoring 2x.  The Crush were to busy trying to figure out if they loose to a bunch of teams that score a lot of points how he can still make the playoffs.

Top Team second honors: Krauts 47 Twins 9
What the heck has happened to the Twins?  In a complete shellacking, the Krauts put the Twins in the oven, showers, you name it!  Krauts were lead from an unusual source...Nick Foles in for Vick had 18 points, while Vincent Jackson scored a rare 2 TD game!  The Twins fall to 1-5.  The win puts the Krauts at 3-3 but still 2 games back of the Powerful Sinistars.

SuperStiff was finally Superman
Player of the Week: Cam Newton and Nick Foles - 18 points
An unusual pair for sure.  Cam "SuperStiff" Newton finally managed to live up to his first round billing throwing for 3 TDs and running in for another as the Wrecking Crew improve to 5-1 with a victory over the Mayhem 37-29 (didn't hurt that Brady only had 4 points).

Around the league...The Bums just keep winning and beat the Juggernauts 32-22 lead by 12 points from Jamaal Charles "in charge" who is having maybe his best ever fantasy year.  He's already got 7 TDs on the year only 1 away from his career high, and its only Week
6...Roulette played to an uncharacteristic low scoring affair out lasting the Mafia 16-12 surviving the Monday Night game which had Ryan "Glass" Mathews for the Mafia.  The mighty Roulette who traded for Megatron, and now have Peterson and Manning managed only 8 points from Manning and 8 from the kicker....Bees beat a lackluster Ferret team 23-9 with 6 from MJD and Cooper and as always the Bears D.  Ferrets sported a lineup that included Rashard Jennings at RB, Ted Ginn Jr. and Jeff Cumberland (who??) as wideouts...The Animals got a bye week this week taking on the Titans, winning 29-17.  Beast Mode had 12 points in the effort. It was only the 2nd win for the Animals as the Titans remain winless...The Chislers handed the Dragons their 2nd loss in a row thanks to 24 points from their kicker ("Survey Says" Dawson) and the Rams D...yeah I said the Rams D...go figure.  Aaron Rodgers had only 4 points...
"Norman" Bates scored the first Rams D TD!

I would have to say the toughest Division right now is the Eastern Bloc.  With the Sinistars at 5-1 and the Manning, Peterson Megatron lead Roulette at 4-2 hard to argue.  Oh and Krauts and Juggs are a respectful 3-3 as well.  The West is a Division of two tales.  Crush and Bums 5-1 while Mafia and Twins are 1-5...

And incase you missed my response to the Crush's ridiculous proposal and poll here it is:

At least the Crush got this in the news!
Call us MLB, but That is insane.  If you want to get into a rotisserie league that only goes by points, go right ahead.  Who needs to play head to head then?  Just total points is all that matter.  Hell lets just not submit a line up and just play all our players because its total points...doesn't matter.  Please give me a break.  There are plenty of leagues out there that you can get into that play like that I suppose.  So feel free to join those leagues Randy. I'm sure there are many owners in this league that are in "other" leagues.  What has been amazing about this league is the realness of this league to actual football games.  We don't have to start a TE, or we can start 5TEs if we want to.  We can go with a one back set, don't always have to start 2 RBs.

Has the best team won  the Super Bowl in the NFL every year?  I would think not.  Many times its been the team that got hot at then end, or got some lucky bounces.  Nor has the Super Bowl team been the team that scored the most points through out the regular season, in fact that is a rare occasion.

Plus in the league where points are at a premium, unlike some of the "other" leagues where you get points for just about anything, if you happen to fall behind in points significantly it is very hard to make up that ground and your season is over.  But under our current format, maybe a team gets lucky, wins some games and fights for a playoff spot at 7-7.  Certainly don't want some "unlucky" team with a record of 5-9 making the playoffs....

Lets stop this nonsense and crazy talk!  Please!
