CFFL Week 13 2022

 Here is the action from Week 13.  Read on for the playoff picture and the implications of the final week of the CFFL season...

Wrecking Crew 27  Ferrets 24 - The Crew just keep on winning.  This week they were able to keep Jonathan Taylor out of the end zone on Sunday night to get the win over the Ferrets.  Derek Carr scored 8 points in relief of bye week Murray.

Animals 28  Chislers 23 - All 23 points for the Chislers came from their QB and Kicker, Burrow and McPherson.  They just needed one of those TD passes to go to Tyler Boyd, but instead ended up in the hands of Animals counter WR Tee "Mrs Sue" Higgins.

Killer Bees 33  Warbirds 29 - The hard luck Warbirds lost another heartbreaker.  With a 29-27 lead late in the game, maybe they would finally be on the winning side.  That was until Bees WR/TE/RB/QB Taysom Hill would catch a 30 yard TD Monday night to seal the victory for the Bees.

Titans 51  Dragons 9 - In one of the most lopsided games of the season, the Titans dropped a 50-burger on their brother Dragons.  16 points from kicker Gregg "The Legg" Zuerlein helped and they just kept pouring it on, with 2 more TDs from Tony Pollard.

Cocktails 41  Sinistars 24 - With the Cocktails out of the playoff race, they turned it on beating the Sinistars easily.  12 points from possible franchise player Christian Watson helped in the victory.  Watson now has 8 TDs in the past 4 weeks!  Rest of the league is glad Cocktails are not in the postseason...

Krauts 41  Juggernauts 30 - The Juggs blew the chance to wrap of the East Division title losing to the  Krauts.  The East will come down to final game.  Krauts tied the series with the Juggs behind 12 points from Amon-Ra "Flying" St. Brown and 14 points from their Blitzkrieg Bills (Allen and Davis).

 Killers 25  Crush 20 - What a game and come back.  Crush had a 20-12 lead going into Monday night.  Killers had Brady, Evans and Succop.  Killers should easily get enough points to win, right?  Well it certainly wasn't easy.  Killers would get an early FG making the score 20-15.  Just one TD from Brady and its tied.  Nothing in the first half.  Nothing in the 3rd Quarter.  And with 3 minutes left he finally would throw a TD and with the Succop XP the game was tied 20-20.  Killers the home team would have first shot in OT, so seemed like that was it...but wait.  Killers had no points on their bench!  They needed yet one more score and time was running out.  But its still Good Ole Tom.  He drove the Killers down and with 19 seconds left  he hit Godwin for the game winner!!!  BUT WAIT! Holding on the play.  TD nullified! 12 seconds left Brady hit Godwin to the 6 yard line.  8 seconds left!  Brady drops back and hits his RB White on the 4 and he dives in the end zone with 3 seconds left to give the Killers the win and keeps their playoff hopes alive!!  While the Crush have clinched a spot in the playoffs, this might have cost them the West.

Whales 28  Iron Legion 19 - Whales are back in first place in the West with the victory over the Legion.  Patrick Mahomes had a pedestrian day scoring "only"10 points for the Whales.  It will all come down with their match up with the Crush.

Playoff Scenarios (my best attempt)

East Division Title - Juggs win East with win over Sinistars or a Kraut loss.  Kruats win East with win over Cocktails AND loss by Juggs.  If both teams lose, Juggs win division.

West Division Title - Whales at Crush will decide the division.  Winner take all.  Both teams have clinched playoff spots.

Wild Card:

• Killers are in with a win.  Killers lose their are out.
• Chislers need a win and a loss from either the Juggernauts, Krauts or Killers and finish above them in points.
• Animals same situation as the Chislers
• Krauts are in with a win.  If they lose, they need a Killer loss, and/or Chisler or Animal loss or stay above them in points scored.
• If Juggs lose and Krauts win, Juggs would then need a Killer loss, and or Chisler or Animal loss or finish with more points.
