CFFL Week 11 Update 2022

Well sadly we are getting down to the end of the regular season.  With only 3 weeks left the final push for the playoffs have begun.  Sorry there was no update last week as I was out in Florida.  Let's take a look at what happened in last week's action...

Wrecking Crew 24 Sinistars 5 - The Crew's luck continues as they won their second straight with no starting QB.  Murray was out past two weeks.  Last week Crew ownership didn't have a clue and this week they took a chance on the possibility of him starting but when announced Monday morning it was too late.  Aiyuk was big in the win scoring 2 TDs for the Crew.  Sinistars have checked out.  (Last week Crew won a nail bitter against the Krauts winning on a late Jacobs TD run)

Aiyuk scored twice in the Crew win

Titans 42  Crush 7 - Titans have clinched the South and caught the Crush team on a bad week.  With Chase out, Jefferson and Lamb couldn't score and neither did QB Cousins.  The Titans on the other hand got points from all over the place including 12 each from Adams and Pollard.  (Last week Crush was on the winnnig side vs Warbirds and Titans beat the Killers easily)

Adams scoring one of his 2 against the Crush

Iron Legion 28  Warbirds 27 - Warbirds just can't catch a break.  With 10 points from Hurts and 12 from Harris, they looked pretty good going into MNF.  That was until George "K.I.TT Boy L.E." Kittle would score 2 long TDs to give the Legion the come from behind victory!

Kittle scores the game winner for the Legion!

Whales 48 Bees 42 - In another thriller the Bees pretty much had the Whales dead to rights leading 42-18 late.  With Butker on the bench for some reason, the Whales would need to somehow score 24 points from  Mahomes and Kelce.  Would 3 10 point connections do it?  Well yes it would and yes it happened.  Mahomes would hit Kelce for 3 TDs in the dramatic victory against the Bees.

These two are a key to a Whales championship run

Dragons 27  Killers 3 - Dragons, out of the playoff race, played spoiler beating the hapless Killers who could could only manage to score 3 points with his Buccaneers on bye.  However owner of the Killers said they aren't much better when Brady plays anyway.  Not sure about that.  Danny Dimes had 10 points for the Dragons in the win.

Danny Dimes did just enough to get the win

Krauts 13  Animals 8 - In a very low scoring affair the Krauts were able to outlast the Animals behind a Chris Olave TD catch.  Both are still in the hunt for the playoffs.

Olave scored the games only TD

Juggernauts 33  Chislers 29 - Chislers got 16 points from Burrow but then only other player to score was their kicker McPherson.  Juggs however had a balanced attack getting points from all but 3 of their starters, inlcuding 6 points from their Washington defense

Burrow did all he could to try to get the win

Ferrets 51 Cocktails 38 - What is up with the Ferrets?  Break them up!  It has been years since they have been this happy this late in the year.  After a 1-3 start they have gone 6-1 and are in the thick of the playoff race.  This week they dropped a 50-burger on the Cocktails.  It helps when you get 19 points from your kicker Tyler Bass.  Thank you snow storm and moving the game indoors.  Cocktails got a wasted performance from Jamal Williams in the loss as he scored 3 times!

Player of the Week:  Tyler Bass, K, Ferrets - 19 points

News Flash Rumor......There are reports from Wening's Wimps LLC, the ownership group for the Fez's Ferrets that they may be moving the franchise north of the boarder and renaming the franchise to the Wening's Blue Bombers, pending a 2-1 vote of the founding CFFL Fathers.  Citizens of Winnipeg were very excited...
