CFFL Week 6 2022

Week 6 in the books.  Let's first look at the Week 6 action and then take a peak at the upcoming home and home divisional series for Week 7 and 8, a two week span that can make or break a season.

Week 6:

Wrecking Crew 40  Killer Bees 14 - No Carr, no Conner, no Jacobs, no problem for the Crew as they had little trouble with the Killer Bees.  This was in large part to 12 point performances by Aiyuk and "I don't always play fantasy football but when I do I draft" Gesicki.

Gesicki trying his best to do the TD dance

Ferrets 22  Dragons 10 - Dragons franchise in disarray.  Earlier in the week the cut their franchise player Russell Wilson and then get zero points in the game from Clyde Edward "Scissor Hands" Helaire and Kamara.  Jimmy G has been a nice addition to the Ferrets scoring 8 points.

Jimmy G did just enough for the Ferrets Victory

Warbirds 22  Animals 18 - Animals knew they were in trouble leading only 18-6 with the WhirlyEagles yet to play.  And they were right.  Hurts and kicker Elliott would combine for 16 points for the win.

Chislers 36  Titans 25 - Joe Burrow took control of this game scoring 18 huge points for the Cincinnati Chislers.  Aaron Rodgers is really not having a good year with the Titans, and wasn't thrilled when they drafted him.  He would score only 4 points this week.

Rodgers thinking "what am I doing with the Titans?"

Krauts 40  Legion 22 - I really thought this one would be squeaky bum time for the Krauts with the Legion Charger Brigade of Herbert, Ekeler, and Williams on MNF.  I was wrong.  That group would combine for only 6 points, while the Krauts Bills Blitzkrieg continues with Allen hitting "I want to be called" GABE Davis for a 10 point connection and then throwing 2 more.

Krauts' Blitzkrieg is coming and Josh Allen is coming with it!

Juggernauts 29  Crush 26 - What a comeback and a crushing defeat for the Crush (no pun intended).  Crush led 26-16 going into MNF.  10 point lead should be enough specially after kicker Hopkins came up lame after his first FG.  But what a gutsy performance by the Juggs kicker.  He would add 2 more FG and an XP before the MNF game would go into OT, where he would kick the game winner for both the Chargers and the Juggs!

Pain in the face of Hopkins as he kicks the game winner

Killers 26  Cocktails 22 (OT) - In another thriller, the Killers would come from behind late with a Miles Sanders TD run on SNF to tie the game at 22!  The Killers being the home team got first crack in OT to score and unbelievably they had "Bitch" Trubisky as their first back up.  He wasn't even a starter on Sunday, but when "Baby Hands" Pickett went down, he came in and threw a TD that would ultimate decide this game!

Sanders TD for the Killers sent the game into OT

Whales 22 Sinistars 21 - This game really came down to the battle between Chiefs.  The Sinistars' Kelce vs. Whales'  Mahomes and Butker.  One TD pass to Kelce and this game would fall into the hands of the Sinistars.  However Mahomes managed to throw 2 TD passes not to Kelce and 9 points from Butker would give the Whales the 1 point win!

Mahomes manages to keep the ball away from Kelce

Player of the Week - Joe Burrow, QB, Chislers - 18 points

Home and Home Preview:

North:
Animals (2-4) vs. Crew (6-0) - Crew have real chance to distance themselves in the North with a sweep of the Animals
Chislers (4-2) vs. Ferrets (3-3) - Ferrets at 3-3 could climb right back into the playoff hunt with a sweep or even a split with the Chislers

South:
Bees (2-4) vs. Dragons (1-5) - Both teams on the struggle bus.  If the Dragons can't get up for this series against the hated Bees all is lost.
Titans (3-3) vs. Warbirds (3-3) - This series will go a long way in deciding the division champ.  Warbirds could be in trouble in game one with the Eagles on a bye.

East:
Cocktails (2-4) vs. Juggernauts (5-1) - Cocktails desperately need a sweep here if they have any aspirations on an East Title.
Krauts (4-2) vs. Sinistars (2-4) - If the Juggernauts trip up vs. the Cocktails, a Kraut sweep could put them in the drivers seat.  Can the Sinistars climb back in the Eastern Bloc race?

West:
Crush (3-3) vs. Legion (1-5) - Legion could give the Crush some issues, but a sweep by the Crush and the playoff hopes for the Legion will be smashed.
Killers (4-2) vs. Whales (3-3) - Big match up in the West.  Killers can distance themselves from the Whales with a sweep or the Whales can flip the script with a sweep of their own!
