CFFL Week 11

We are certainly down the home stretch!  Only three weeks to go and technically 13 teams still alive!

So let's take a quick look at the divisional races here in the CFFL:

In the North it appears to be the Chislers to lose.  While they are tied with the Crew at 9-2, they split the head to head and have identical divisional records of 3-1, the Chislers have a large lead in PF: 515 vs. 450.  Crew will need to sweep the last two divisional games and hope for a Chisler loss.

In the South, or should we say the NFC East, the Killer Bees and Dragons are tied at 5-6 for the division lead.  Bees hold the tie breaker with a 4-0 divisional record plus they won the first match up 49-22.  Dragons will need to win out and have Bees lose at least 2 games in the next 3.

In the east the defending champ Sinistars have clinched the division at 10-1.  Cocktails are 7-4 but have a 0-4 divisional record and lost to the Sinistars in their first head to head match up earlier this year 48-38.

And in the West it has been a battle between three teams all year.  The two new franchises, Whales and Iron Legion and the Killers.  Whales have moved into the driver's seat with a one game lead at 6-5.  Killers, at one game back have a 3-1 divisional record while both the Whales and the Legion are at 2-2.  Killers swept the Legion, but lost first game against the Whales.  This division could come down to Week 13 match up between the Killers and the Whales.

Oh yeah, there were some games played last week too.  Here is a look at the action that took place last week in the CFFL.

Wrecking Crew 38  Killers 20 - Father took no mercy on his son.  Clyde Edwards "Scissor Hands" Helaire finally showed he could score and punched in two TDs.  Murrary, who had been Mr. Double Digits, only had 8 points this week.  The Killers who are completely dependent on Buccaneers managed only 20 points.
CEH scoring one of his two TDs!

Cockails 40 Titans 12 - The Cocktails took the Titans out in a body bag.  Titans had line up issues and didn't have a back up Kicker playing.  Leading scorer with 14 points for the Cocktails was a kicker, Rodrigo "You sunk my" Blankenship.

"B-3".."You sunk by Blankenship!"

Mayhem 40  Juggernauts 38 - In a barn burner the Mayhem were able to hang on against the Juggs after spotting them a big lead.  "Old Man" Rivers had 12 and Adam "I have COVID, wait, no I don't" Thielen also had 12 in the win for the Mayhem.  Juggs were once the preseason favorite and even mid season with the trade for Jackson to win it all...now they are fighting for their playoff lives.
Rivers still making it happen.

Krauts 26  Killer Bees 23 - In another close one Dalton for the Bees and Cousins for the Krauts squared off.  Both scored 12 points.  But it came down to Sunday Night and the Bees just needed 9 points from their Kicker Butker.  Seems pretty reasonable right?  Nope.  Too many TDs scored in the Chiefs game and he would only have 5 points.
Cousins and Dalton after the game.

Sinistars 43 Dragons 35 - Another somewhat of a thriller between the Dragons and Sinistars saw the Sinistars with a 37-35 lead late.  This was after a 14 point performance by Dragon QB Watson.  Dragons needed to shut out Kelce Sunday night and hope Malcom Brown would score Monday night for the win.  Well the opposite happened, Kelce would score for the Sinistars making it a two score game, and Brown wouldn't sniff the endzone Monday.
Kelce's TD sealed the victory

Chislers 49 Legion 25 - In a very physical game, after a slow start, the Chislers put the pedal down getting points from every player except their defense.  Justin "Bobby" Herbert "Hair Cut" filled in nicely for Allen scoring 12 points.  Unfortunately for the Iron Legion, they lost Burrow for the year with a wicked knee injury.
WTF?

Whales 30  Animals 22 - While this had a score at the end for the win, the Whales didn't stop there so it really wasn't as thrilling as it may seem.  But going into Sunday night the Animals did have a 22-16 lead.  But Whales had Mahomes.  He would score only 2 TDs but would be enough to give them the 24-22 lead.  Robert "Ice Bucket" Woods would add on another for good measure Monday night.

Crush 26 Ferrets 14 - In a game between two teams going no where the Crush managed to win with zero points from their QB Matt "Shark Eyes" Ryan.  Claypool, Evans and Godwin all got in the act with a TD each.

Player of the Week:  Deshaun Watson, QB, Dragons 14 points
