CFHL Week 7

After 7 weeks (with many more to go) Its still tight from the first place teams of the Goon Crew and Mayhem on Ice to the last place teams of USSR and Checkers...

Assassins vs. AshBusters 6-2
The Assassins won their 3rd in a row and are now breathing down the Goon Crew's neck back by only one point.  AshBusters, looking for some help in net by trading for Craig Anderson, was let down getting no wins, a GAA of 4.05 and SV% of .867 as Anderson was out for several days.  He appears go be back to start this week however.  They did beat the hell out of the Assassin skaters getting a bruising 75 hits as Pavelski and Emelin both had 15 and Schenn had 13.  Assassins 2 Stars of the game were Kesler who had 3 goals, 2 assists, 2 PPG and 46 FOW and Bobrovsky who had 2 wins and a 1.50 GAA.

Bobrovsky was big in net for Assassins

Krampus Carols vs. Checkers 5-4
The Krampus edged the struggling Checkers who only managed to score 2 goals.  If only the Checkers could have got a win from Budaj Sunday, or a couple of goals their centers of Spezza or Vermette they might have pulled this one off.  Tyler Seguin lead the Krampus tallying 2 goals, 3 assists and 2 PPG.  Checkers only had 2 skaters with a positive rating.  8 players had a minus rating for Checkers for a total -18...brutal.

It was tattoo night at the Krampus game...

Slow Icin' vs. Mayhem on Ice 5-3
Slow Icin upset the Mayhem handing them their second loss of the season.  Patrik Laine for the Mayhem continues to shine netting 4 goals and now has 16 goals on the season, tied for first in the league with Crosby.  Unfortunately it wasn't enough as Slow Icin' would beat them in Assists, +/-, FOW and Goalie categories.  The Slow Icin' Red Wings finally paid big dividends as Zetterberg had 3 goals and 2 assists with 32 FOW, while goalie Mrazek had 2 wins with a 1.97 GAA and SV% of .940

White Mambas vs. Goon Crew 6-2
In another upset the Mambas dominated the Crew handing them their 2nd loss of the season as well.  The Crew could manage only 4 goals to White Mambas  10 goals.  Tarasenko for the Mambas lead all players with 4 goals.  Martin Jones was the Number One Star of the game for the White Mambas with 3 wins, GAA of 1.00 and SV% of .962.   He gave up only 1 goal in each of his 3 wins.

USSR vs. Who Gives a Puck 4-4
Kissing your sister I think is the term...USSR and Puck skated to a tie this week.  It came down to both teams needing a PPG on Sunday Night to break the tie.  There were power plays for Draisaitl and Koivu had their chances late in the night on Sunday, but couldn't manage to put one in the net.  The Puck did their best to try to compete with FOW as they had 117, but per usual no match for the USSR who had 179, starting 6 skaters who take face offs.
A tie is kinda like this...eh...what?
