CFFL Week 13

On to the final week of the season and there are many playoff spots still up for grabs in one of the closest playoff races ever. Here is a quick look at last weeks games and the playoff scenarios...

Wrecking Crew 41 Chislers 23
Crew sweep their brother Chislers and tie them for the North Division title.  Carr hit Cooper for a 10 point, make it an 11 point connection and Spencer Ware scored twice for the Crew.

Mafia 48 Bums 19
Mafia finally stopped the Bums rolling them 48-19.  David Johnson lead the Mafia with 12 points while Blount, Bryant, and Tate all had TDs.  Mafia are now 10-3 and tied with the Crush for first in the West.

Sinistars 26 Crush 19
Gordon has 12 TDs for the Sinistars
With a chance to clinch the west the Crush came out flat and the Sinistars took advantage of them beating them 26-19.  Melvin Gordon scored his 12th TD on the season for the Sinistars...that's 12 more than he had for the Chislers last year.

Mayhem 21 Dragons 10
The Mayhem prevented the Dragon sweep and are now in a one game lead in the South.  The Dragons could only manage 10 points from Manning and Gould.  Rest goose eggs.  Dragons still have a shot at the South, but will need to win and their brother the Titans to beat the Mayhem next week.

Bees 21 Titans 4
Speaking of the Titans, they better score more than 4 points if they are to help out the Dragons next week.  Bees and Titans have been planning for next season for weeks...

Roulette 37 Juggernauts 11
The Roulette became the first team to clinch their division, and it had to do it in the 2nd to last game of the season.  Rodgers hit Nelson for a 10 point connection.  And with Adams on the team as well, they are always a threat for at least 1 of those a week.
Nelson grabbed a 10 point connection in the snow

Cocktails 60 Krauts 17
The Cocktails ran up the score on the Krauts knowing total points may be a factor.  They also might have killed the Krauts playoff hopes as well as they slip to 6-7.  Cocktails got an impressive productions from their backs including their QB.  Luck had 16, Howard had 18 and Murray had 12!

Howard rumbled in the snow for 3 scores!

Ferrets 34 Animals 23
In the battle of the North basement, the Ferrets survived the Animals.  The Animals had pulled within 1 point with a bomb from Newton to make the game 24-23.  The Ferrets would counter, however, with a 10 point connection of Wilson to Lockett that would seal the deal.

Now onto the playoff races:

Division Leaders                  Wild Card                      In the hunt
y-Crush (10-3)                     y-Mafia (10-3)                  Bums (7-6)
x-Roulette (9-4)                   Sinistars (8-5)                   Dragons (7-6)
Mayhem (8-5)                      Cocktails (7-6)                 Krauts (6-7)
Wrecking Crew (7-6)           Chislers (7-6)

x-clinched division
y-clinched playoffs

Division Leaders:

North: This is down to the Chislers and Crew.  If both teams win Crew are in based on sweeping the Chislers.  Chislers win the division with a win and a Crew loss.  If Crew lose, at 7-7 they are likely out of playoffs due to tie breakers (not enough points)

South:  Mayhem have one game lead over Dragons.  Mayhem win division with a win or a Dragon loss.  Dragons need a win and a Mayhem loss to win Division.

East:  Roulette have clinched the division

West:  The Crush and Mafia are both tied at 10-3, best record in CFFL.  They split their season series.  Crush hold a one game lead in division record.  Crush win division with a win, or a Mafia loss.  Mafia need a win and a Crush loss to win division.

Now the murky Wild Card Race:

Number 1 Wild card spot locked up between Crush and Mafia, consolation prize for team not winning division.

Mayhem - if lose and Dragons win they would need a Cocktail loss or out score Chislers by 7 if Chislers win.

Crew - if lose they would need several teams to lose Bums, Cocktails and Dragons to lose and out score Bums and out score Cocktails by 55.  So basically Division or bust.

Sinistars - A win locks up the Number 2 wild card spot.  A loss and they are still likely in barring being outscored by Mayhem by 39 and Chislers by 32 along with a win by Chislers.  So basically they are in regardless.

Cocktails - They win and in as long as not outscored by Mayhem by 28 or Chislers by 21 if Chislers win but don't win division.  If they lose they need a Chisler loss, and Bums loss.

Chislers - If Crew win and they win, they need a Cocktail loss or Bums loss or as long as Bums don't win and outscore Chislers by 32 points or something...Good Chance they make it.

Bums - Outside looking in.  Need a win and a Chisler or Coctail loss.  If lose and they lose need to out score Chislers by 32 points...or something like that...

Dragons - Outside looking in if don't win division which happens with a loss.  They would need losses by Bums, Cocktails and Chislers or Crew and out score all of them by a significant amount....So basically division or bust.

Krauts - really on outside looking in.  Not sure they can do it.  They need a win and losses from Dragons, Bums, Chislers and Cocktails and out score Chislers by 57 points.  I think.

Whew,  I am sure I might have missed some things, but should make for an interesting final week of the CFFL season.  But don't take what I wrote as the gospel...
