CFHL Week 2

After 2 Weeks the Norris is tight and in the Smythe the AshBusters taking control.

Mayhem on Ice vs. Goon Crew 4-2

Parise earns Number One Star of game

The Mayhem controled this game and for much of the week had a big lead.  In goals the Mayhem tallied 13 while the Crew only managed 3 for a good part of the week from Seguin, but did get 2 more from Couture later on Saturday.  Ovechkin and Landeskog led the Mayhem with 3 goals each and Zach Parise earned Number One Star honors with 2 goals, 3 assists, +1 and 2 PIM.  The Goon Crew goalies were brutal tallying only one win and a pitiful SV% of .909 with Price and Niemi struggling.  They were no match this week as Crawford had 3 wins and a .945 SV%.

Assassins vs. Krampus Carols 4-2

Shatten"Captain"kirk

The Assassins bounced back and beat up the Krampus Carols as they racked up 34 PIM to the Carols' 8.  Shatten"Captain"Kirk was the Goon of the Game with 15 PIM.  Malkin earned the Number One Star with his 3-3-3-4 week along with Goalie Rinne who had 3 wins and an impressive .950 SV%.  The Assassins goalies combined for 5 wins this week!  The Krampus Carols? 0 wins.  In fact they only had one goalie playing as Varlamov was on IR.

AshBusters vs. Checkers 4-1-1
The AshBusters had their way with the Checkers dominating in assists, PIM, and goalie wins.  Leading the way for the AshBusters was Number One pick overall Sid "The Kid"Crosby who had 1 goal, 6 assists, a +2 and 14 PIM!!  Hell of a week for him.  The interesting thing about this game was as the clock ticked down on the final game of the week on Sunday the AshBusters held a 5-1 lead.  With a meaningless empty net goal by the Redwings vs the Canucks, Kronwall happened to be on the ice when it happened for the Checkers while Daniel "Ginger Twin" Sedin or the AshBusters was as well.  The swing on the +/- for the Checkers helped them tie the category to earn them at least another point.

USSR vs Who Gives a Puck 3-2-1

Kane likes to party after games

The Soviets got back on the winning track taking down the Who Gives a Puck.  However, despite the loss by the Puck, they moved into first place in the Norris with their 5 point week since most of the Norris laid down for the week.  And Who Gives a Puck had the Number One Star of the game, Patrick Kane, who had 2 goals, 3 assists, and a +5.


Week 3 Game of the Week:  Goon Crew vs. Assassins
The Goon Crew and Assassins face off in a division battle to try to climb to the top of the Norris.  While this is happening this week, the football counter parts Wrecking Crew and Animals face off in the CFFL for the North division title.  Busy week for the Crew and Animals/Assassins this week!
