CFFL Week 7 Review

Sorry for the lateness of this but was out of town....in any event, here we go

Its mid way through the regular season and the home and home series are here. Some interesting games and some opportunities for some teams to make some big moves in the standings.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD?  Is there a changing of the guard in the North?  In the North Home and Home series its typically a sweep by last years two Fantasy Bowl teams Chiselers and Crew as they play the Animals and Ferrets.  As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast by Friend!"

The Animals, who have been on fire lately continued to roll and now have traded to improve their QB position and acquired RGIII.  They dominated the game against the Chislers and won 42-26.  The game really was never close ad the Animals got 8 from RGIII, 12 from Chris Johnson who hasn't done squat all year and then 10 from Suisham.  Is it finally the Animals year?

Now that statement should be used for the Ferrets who as one of the original franchises has never won a Fantasy Bowl.  Could this be their year?  The Crew didn't put up much of a fight and went down 41-18 as they were beat by Weeden and "Commissioner" Gordon, a "deadly" Browns 10 point connection (something you don't hear often).  2 TDs from Arian Foster certainly helped too.  The Crew are having some major issues.  A bad draft, poor season waiver moves, and they even started a WR that was on a bye while Cobb was on the bench with 12 points.  Wouldn't have mattered, but come on man!!!

Are the Titans on the move?  After defeating their brother the Dragons (in a series the Dragons usually roll through) they have now won 3 in a row, and are only a game behind the Mayhem and Bees.  Whats up with that??  Nick Folk was key in the 30-17 victory over the Dragons with 14 points.  The Dragons are the evidence that one player just can't win it all for you.  Aaron Rodgers has been lighting it up and threw for 3 more TDs this week, but got little help, in fact none.  5 points from the Dragon kicker and nothing from RB or WR.  That's not good.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Drew Brees earned player of the week honors throwing for 4 TDs as the Bees win game one versus the Mayhem 36-27 in a key series for the lead in the South.  The win by the Bees moved them into a tie with the Mayhem and now currently holds the head to head tie breaker.  As if the 16 points wasn't enough the Bees kicker "Fat Kicker" Janikowski booted 14.  Mayhem suddenly look very pedestrian like.

GAME OF THE WEEK: Twins and Mafia battled to the very end and it came down to both night games on Sunday and Monday.  The Mafia had a 20-11 lead going into SNF with a Romo TD pass, Shonn Greene and Vincent "Price" Jackson TDs and 4 points from Connor Barth "Half Man, half dog, I'm a Mog".  Twins had an usually low scoring day but had the Malachi-Green 10 connection to go on Sunday.  And the hit one!! That made the score 21-20, surely not enough for a team that had Megatron on Monday night right?  Wrong!  The Madden Curse lives on!  The Mafia couldn't get Megatron in the end zone and lose to the Twins 21-20.

In a game of teams that likely were not going anywhere, went into OT as the Juggernauts outlasted the Roulette giving them their 6 loss in a row...The Krauts who back in week 5 was sitting at 4-1 with a nice 2 game lead. Well that's all but gone and have dropped two in a row, this week to division rival Sinistars 27-16, moving the Sinistars only one game back. Leading scorer of this game? Kai Forbath with 11 points fro the Sinistars.  WHO????....Bums kept pace with the Twins and moved to 5-2 but it wasn't easy as they edged the Crush 27-20 with 7 points from Robbie Gould in MNF.

This week its another round of the Home and Home.  Can the Sinistars sweep the Kaurts and take the lead in the East...Who will take a commanding lead in the South as the Bees and Mayhem square off again...Can the Animals sweep the Chislers to keep pace with the division leaders...Crew suck..
