CFFL Week 12

Getting down to the home stretch now.  12 weeks in the book already.  We enter the final two weeks of the season and get back into divisional play.  Things are heating up in the CFFL.

Last weeks action:

Wrecking Crew 32  Crush 22 - The Crew needed just one FG from Cairo Santos "Todd Chontos" to get the win against the Crush.  When Santos missed his first FG Monday night, flashes of Fantasy Bowl XXII entered the Crew's head, where they needed just 6 points from Robbie Gould in the final game of the season to win the Fantasy Bowl against the Crush.  Well Santos would kick 4 FGs Monday that and was no problem this week. C.J. Stroud continued to impress, scoring 14 points for the Crew.

Stroud runs it in for the Crew!

Cocktails 37  Dragons 28 - Cocktails get the win over the Dragons and are closer to clinching a playoff spot.  They got 12 points from Derrick "King" Henry.  Where has he been all season.  Questionable line up from the Dragons.  They started Ravens' Bateman instead of Zay Flowers who had 12 points...which would have won the game...

King Henry gets his first two TD game of the year!

Juggeranuts 25  Titans 16 - Juggernauts move to 9-3 and are one win away from clinching the East.  They continue to do this with the QB duo of Fields and Minshew.  It helps having McCaffrey though.  This week he found the end zone twice.

McCaffrey earned his turkey leg scoring twice

Warbirds 41  Krauts 36 - The Warbirds, who did a Bunker fly by this weekend, ended the Krauts playoff hopes to the delight of all.  They did it in dramatic fashion too.  Krauts were led by Bijan Robinson's 12 points and had a 36-35 lead late into the game.  Jalen Hurts was doing everything he could to get the win scoring 18 points before the Eagles went into OT.  Seemed like the Warbirds were done.  Not so fast.  Hurts would run in the final score of that game giving the Warbirds the lead, 41-36 and they would hang on Monday night as Kraut RB Mattision "Not Addison" would be held scoreless. The win clinches the South Division for the Warbirds.

Hurts scores the game winner for the Warbirds

Killer Bees 41  Sinistars 37 (OT) - In another nail bitter the Bees were able to upset the Sinistars in OT despite Josh Allen's 20 points. Allen is the leagues leading scorer and has double digit points in 10 out of 12 weeks so far this season.   The Bees got 16 points from their QB Stafford in the win.  The game would end up tied and the Bees' 2nd round pick McPherson kicked the winning 4 points.  Good think he drafted him in the second round...just saying.

Stafford has a big game for the Bees

Ferrets 34  Iron Legion 30 - The Ferrets upset the West leading Legion behind 12 points from Jonathan Taylor.  Yet another player people were wondering where he has been (see above regarding Henry).  They were able to sustain the Legions' Charger attack of Herbert and Allen along with kicker Tucker on Sunday night.

Taylor gets his first 2 score game of the year.

Chislers 30  Whales 26 (OT) - In another overtime game, the Chislers were able to defeat the Whales with, of all people, Jake Browning's one TD pass.  Isiah "Peak at my Butthole" Pacheco had 12 points for the Chislers.  They needed the OT since Dobbs only managed one TD pass, which tied the game, and Addisoin "Not Mattison" was kept out of the end zone.

Animals 52  Killers 22 - The Animals Machine continued to roll, winning it's 10th in a row since starting the season 0-2.  They got 17 points from QB Dak Prescott and 12 points from FA pick up Kyreen Williams.  Apparently it pays to lose first two games of the season and be able to have first choice of Free Agents.

Dak playing well for the Animal Machine

Player of the Week:  Jalen Hurts, QB, Warbirds - 24 points

Playoff Picture:

Division Leaders                          Wild Card                            Lurking
1. Animals 10-2                            5. Chislers 9-3                    Crew 6-6 (299)
2. Juggernauts 9-3                        6. Cocktails 7-5 (346)         Ferrets 5-7 (372)
3. Legion 8-4 (393)                      7. Sinistars 7-5 (334)           Dragons 5-7 (320)
4. y-Warbirds 8-4 (378)                8. Whales 6-6 (303)

It would appear that slots 1-5 are set except for seeding, but those teams likely locked in the playoffs.  Cocktails and Sinistars certainly in the driver seat for playoff spots.  Whales have to be careful.  Crew definitely lurking but will need some help to try to sneak in.  Same with the Ferrets and Dragons.  They have to win out and get some help most likely.
