Led Zeppelin - My Rank of Songs

Those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I am a big Zep Head.  This will begin a 9 part series as I reveal my ranking of all of Led Zeppelin's songs that they recorded.  Now mind you, this was not an easy chore, being that all of the songs are tremendous!  But I knew my #1 and my least favorite.  So one night, after seeing the cover band Get The Led Out, my buddy Steve and I decided to rank all songs.  So here is the first few, which each week will be followed by 10 more songs ranked.

So here is my ranking of what I believe is the greatest band ever.  Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and the late John Bonham...

83. Hot Dog - In Through The Out Door - Clearly my least favorite of all of the LZ songs.  Country guys?  Really?

82. South Bound Saurez - In Through The Out Door - Jimmy still rocking the guitar solo on this one and Jonesy opening the song with his piano play.

81.Carouselambra - In Through The Out Door - Another of LZs anthems on an album.  Over 10 minutes long.  You can tell the 80s were right around the corner with Jonesy on synthesizer.

Next week..71-80.

  1. Ok, well I can see that ITTOD is not a favorite! I would have to agree, even though a classic, it was a big departure from the blues and heavier rock. South Bound Saurez number 82??!! Not sure about that.. Great Groove and swinging number, lots of fun...I guess something has to go at the bottom of the list! Keep it coming!
