CFHL Week 10

 10 Weeks of the regular season in the books.  6 more to go.  Top 6 teams make the playoffs.  Currently the two tops seeds would be the Greek Empire who lead the league with 73 points and then Space Monkey Mafia who have 68 points and lead the Smythe Division.  Assassins, Krampus, Raisins and Mambas would round out the playoffs.  The Goon Crew are one point behind the Mambas for the last playoff spot.  Lots of hockey left to play!

Week 10 action:

Krampus Carols vs. Goon Crew 3-2-1

Krampus were able to edge the Crew this week.  The Crew really needed to get just one win from Ullmark, but it was a rough week.  McDavid tallied 10 assists and Brady Tkachuk smashed the boards with 21 hits!  Nylander wasted a great week for the Crew with 3 goals, 3 assists, 3 PPP and 2 hits.

Space Monkey Mafia vs. Assassins 4-2

The Mafia bounced back after last weeks loss, getting great production from MacKinnon, Marner and Matthew Tkachuk.  MacKinnon had 5 helpers and 5 hits.  Marner had 5 more helpers and Tkachuk had 3 goals, 5 more assists, 3 PPP and 10 hits!

Slapshots vs. Raisins 3-3

Slapshots owned the offensive categories and the Raisins owned the goalie and hits categories.  In fact, the Raisins had 3 players with double digit hits or more.  Trocheck had 18, Gudas the Goon had 13 and Weegar the Horrible had 10.  Ryan "Ted" Nugent-Hopkins led the Slapshots with 3 goals.

Checkers vs. Puck 3-3

It was an identical result in the Checkers/Who Gives a Puck game as the Slapshot/Raisins game.  Puck owned the offensive categories and Checkers took the goalies and hits.  Wild.  Checkers goalies were significantly better getting 4 wins between Bobrovsky and Georgiev.  Lauzon had 25 freaking hits!!  Ridiculous.  Oh and Puck center Auston Matthews had two hat tricks!

Greek Empire vs. White Mambas 4-1-1

Empire continue to keep their first place status knocking off the White Mambas.  Connor Hellebuyck had another stellar week  with 2 wins and a .963 SV%.  Eriksson Ek led the Empire again with 4 goals and 7 hits.  Not a bad week.

CFHL Week 9

 The boys were back at it this week and here are the highlights of Week 9...

Goon Crew vs. Raisins 3-2-1

The Goon Crew were able to hold off the Raisins by dominating the goalie stats.  Between Oettinger and Ullmark, they had 3 wins and a SV% of .965 that included a shut out by Ullmark.  It was a close one though with only one goal separating the two teams, and a tie in assists.

Assassins vs. Slapshots 4-2 

The Assassins have moved into second place overall, despite still being 5 points behind division leading Greek Empire.  Nick Suzuki had a great week with 4 goals, 2 assists a PPP and 2 hits.  Demko shined again for the Assassins with 2 wins for the week.  The Slapshots little mini winning streak has ended.

Greek Empire vs. Checkers 4-0-2

First place overall Empire took down the Checkers 4-0-2 with hits and goalie wins the only ties.  Tavares led the Empire with 2 goals, 3 assists, 3 PPP and 4 hits.  Surprisingly Lauzon, the Checkers hit man, only had 3 hits on the week.  This is way off from his normal average of nearly 15.  Maybe it was because he only played one game...

White Mambas vs. Krampus Carols 4-2

Krampus Carols struggled between the pipes this week failing to get a single win between Kuemper and Skinner.  That was the opposite for the White Mambas, as Jarry and Sorokin had 3 wins and SV% of .945.  Elias Pettersson continues to lead the Mambas with 4 assists and 5 hits on the week.

 Space Monkey Mafia vs. Who Gives a Puck 1-1-4

This was a battle that ended in a complete tie.  They tied in goals with 6, PPP with 3, hits with 28 and goalie wins.  Just one more in any of those categories and this game looks totally different.  Mitch Marner (Maple Leaf) for the Mafia and Auston Matthews (Maple Leaf) for the Puck each had 2 goals.
