CFFL 2022 Week 3

 Week 3 in the books and still just two undefeated teams, the Crew and the Juggernauts.  And one team with zero wins; the Iron Legion.  

Here is last week's action:

Wrecking Crew 23  Dragons 9 - The Dragon's offense was stuck in slow motion, only scoring 9 points.  Crew offense wasn't much better.  Carr did have 8 points but still has been a disappointment thus far this year.

Killer Bees 26  Animals 12 - The Bees get their first win of the season courtesy  of the anemic Animals.  Bees would get 10 from their kicker Carslson, and TDs from "Cab" Callaway  and Amari Cooper.

Chislers 39  Warbirds 36 - The Whirlybirds and getting close to Warbird status, nearly beating the mighty Chislers. With Hurts, Goedert and kicker Elliott, all from the Eagles, these birds could finally put together a playoff bound team.  The Chislers would get the game winning TD catches from Cooper Kupp and Allen "Lizard" Lazard to comeback and beat the Whirlybirds!

Ferrets 21  Titans 19 - The Ferrets were able to hold off the Titans who had Tony Pollard Monday night.  Derrick "King" Henry finally looked like his old self, making the defenders look like high school kids plus we had an Adam Thielen sighting in the end zone.

Sinistars 19  Killers 16 - Tom Brady vs Kyler Murray.  Should be a barn burner right?  Wrong!  The two QBs would combine for only 4 points.  The Killers were unable to get Jerry Jeudy in the endzone late Sunday Night.  Kelce helped in the Sinistar victory with 8 points.

Crush 29  Cocktails 20 - Game was only 23-20 going into MNF.  It was Crush CeeDee Lamb vs Cocktails' Sterling Shepard.  Lamb would score to extend lead to 26-20 and Shepard tore his ACL.  Needless to say the Crush would come away victorious.

Juggernauts 44  Legion 19 - Is it the year of the Juggernaut?  They move to 3-0 dismantling the Legion.  They lead the league in scoring and scored 40 plus points for the third week in a row!  Lamar Jackson has been on fire and he scored 22 points against the Legion.  AJ Brown and Drake "Joker Face" London got in the action as well with a TD each.

Krauts 30  Whales 29 - In the nail bitter of the week, the Krauts managed to edge the Whales by 1 point.  They led the Whales 24-13 going into MNF and the Whales had two players (Elliott and "Bat" Gano).  The Whales would need 11 points to tie. Doable, but Gano's first FG attempt was blocked!  He would get two more though bringing the score to 24-19, but shortly there after the Kruats RB Barkely would scamper for a 36 yard TD putting the game nearly out of reach 30-20, or so it seemed.  Whales RB Elliott would get a late TD pulling them to within 4, 30-26.  Gano would boot a 51 yarder and now they only trailed by 1!  But time would run out on the Whales and the Krauts emerge victorious!  If only Gano's first kick wasn't blocked...

CFFL 2022 Week 2

 The CFFL has finished its first of 3 divisional back to backs.  A time to try to pull away in the divisions.  In the North the Crew go 2-0 in the division up a game on Animals and Chislers.  But Crew team riding more luck than talent right now.  Titans doing the same going 2-0, game up on Dragons and Warbirds/Whirlybirds.  Juggernauts surprising in the East at 2-0 and the Killers 2-0 in the West despite the Buccaneers not exactly an offensive juggernaut..

Here is how Week 2 went as we saw some interesting battles deep into Monday Night...

Wrecking Crew 30  Ferrets 23 - The Crew hang on for the win thanks to 12 points from late roster change Christian "Captian" Kirk.  Carr did have 8 points but overall their investment in the Raiders has been disappointing.  Ferrets mounted a comeback with Tyler Bass getting 11 points and a "King" Henry TD run but needed another TD (from Thielen would have been nice) and just another point from Bass...

Chislers 44 Animals 32 - Despite 18 points from "Chubb, Chubb, Chubb" Chubb, the Animals fell to the Chislers.  12 points from Kupp and a TD from Henderson sealed the win and ultimately 9 points from their kicker McPherson..."that's not fair!"

Warbirds 34  Killer Bees 27 - The Warbirds staged a huge comeback on Monday Night football.  They trailed the Bees 27-12.  Aaron Jones on Sunday night helped get the Warbirds on the board and then Jalen Hurts took over Monday.  He would run two in and finish with 16 points while fellow Eagle kicker Jake "The Snake" Elliott would  add 6 points to give the Warbirds the win!

Titans 38  Dragons 10 - In the first installment of the Freeman Brother Rivalry the Titans finished with an easy win.  Dragons couldn't get anything going with QB Russell Wilson (4 points) and no other player scored beside his kicker.  The Titans however scored on the opening kick off (Ravens return) followed by 2 TDs by Jaylen "Penguin" Waddle "waddle, waddle, waddle". Will the Dragons consider starting Wentz soon?

Cocktails 33  Sinistars 25 - These two Eastern Bloc powerhouses went toe to toe.  Matt Stafford for the Cocktails scored 12 points while Kyler Murray ran around like a jitter bug and threw for 13 points.  The Cocktails would finally pull way with Allen Robinson (from Stafford) 11 point connection and Matt "GAY!"s 7 points.

Juggernauts 48  Krauts 41 - In the game/barn burner of the week, The Juggs outlasted the Krauts in a slugfest.  They started out with 18 huge points from Lamar Jackson while the Krauts got 12 points from Amon-Ra "They Flying" St. Brown"s".  Then it came down to Monday Night.  Krauts with Josh Allen, Irv Smith, and Greg "Roy" Joseph.  The Juggernauts had a big counter in Stephon Diggs "Dug".  This counter turned out to be the game difference as Josh Allen would throw 4 TDs, 3 of them to Diggs ensuring the Juggs the victory!

Killers 26  Crush 18 - The Killers upset the Crush 26-18.  The Crush looked like they were going to be the team to beat with a WRs trio of Chase, Jefferson and Lamb.  They all posted goose eggs!  Freiemuth "Firemouth!" did have a TD.  Killers would only get 4 points from Brady and Mike Evans would get ejected from the game (Killers and Crush don't like each other very much).  But they did get 8 points from Tampa Bay kicker Succop and 6 more from their defense.

Whales 47  Iron Legion 29 - It was like old times for the Whales with Mahomes throwing 2 TDs and Tyreek Hill scoring twice, almost like they got 2 10 point connections!  Herbert did have 12 points including a 10 point connection to Mike Williams early in the game, but also had one go to Whales WR Palmer.  In the end the Whales were too much getting another 6 from their Bills D.

CFFL 2022 Week 1

The CFFL is back!  Week 1 of the CFFL season already in the books!  

Wrecking Crew 24  Chislers 21 - Crew come back with 10 points from McManus to win the leagues longest rivalry.  Pretty lack luster game, with Burrow and Carr struggling Week 1.  

Animals 21  Ferrets 18 - Animals held on vs Ferrets as MNF didn't see a score from either Metcalf for Animals or Lockett for Ferrets.  Winston led the Animals with 9 points.

Dragons 36  Warbirds 26 - Dragons defeat the Warbirds/Whirlybirds behind 14 points from their special teams (Dolphins: Sanders-8 and Defense-6).  Oh and CHE had two scores to open the season!  (Bastard)

Titans 23  Bees 19 - Bees suffered big set back with injury to Prescott and their only back up is Watson!  Titans get TDs from WRs Adams and Waddle.

And now on to teams that actually know how to score...

Juggernauts 42  Sinistars  34 - Juggs got the win in this shoot out behind 12 points from Lamar Jackson and 12 more from Michael Thomas, back after being gone for 2 years!  Sinistars had 30 points on the bench from their back up RBs!

Krauts 55  Cocktails 14 - Krauts goose stepped all over the Cocktails putting up the season's first 50-burger!  Josh Allen led the way with 18 huge points to start the game including a 10 point connection to Davis.  Barkley looked like he is back to his former self scoring 8 points as well.  Repeat?

Killers 35  Legion 34 - In the thriller of the week, the Killers trailed the Legion 34-29 going into MNF.  It looked like it was going to be a Legion win.  But not so fast my friends!  Jerry Jeudy would catch a 67 yard bomb for the game winner!

Crush 32  Whales 27 - Despite Whales QB Mahomes 20 points the Crush came away with the victory.  Cousins would hit Jefferson for 2 10 point connections!  Chase also added a TD.  Those WRs are going to be a pain in the ass to opponents all year long.
