CFFL Week 1

The long offseason is over, and the wait was worth it! Week 1 is in the books with a somewhat low-scoring start to the season. Let’s see how long that lasts…

Chislers 41 – Wrecking Crew 32

The Crew held a 32-21 lead going into Sunday night, but Josh Allen (20 points) picked up right where his MVP season left off, leading a Chislers comeback. Baker chipped in 12 points in the loss, including a quirky 10-point hookup with rookie Bucky “Bukees” Irving. The scoreline doesn’t show how close this one really was.

Allen scoring 6 of his 20 points for the win!

Animals 29 – Ferrets 15

The Ferrets carried a 15-9 lead into the primetime games with no players left, and the Animals had plenty of ammo. Lamar Jackson (14) erased the deficit, then Aaron Jones iced it with a Monday night TD grab. Jake Moody “Blues” missed two FGs for the Ferrets—though it wouldn’t have changed the outcome.

Lamar a good start for the Animals

Warbirds 27 – Dragons 17

Warbirds managed the W despite a sluggish start from Joe Burrow. Bijan Robinson’s 50-yard TD justified their first-round pick, while Ja’Marr Chase stayed quiet. On the Dragons’ bench, Aaron Rodgers (16) outscored starter Tua’s dud, possibly setting up a QB controversy for Week 2.

Robinson with a huge 50 yard TD!

Killer Bees 37 – Dominators 24

The Dominators scrambled to get a lineup in but jumped ahead thanks to two early Javonte Williams TDs. The Bees struck back with RBs De’Von Achane and James Cook both finding the end zone, while rookie Emeka Egbuka hauled in two scores. The sting was too much for the shaky Dom start.

Great start by the rookie Egbuka

Juggernauts 28 – Sinistars 21

Sinistars got all 21 points from Mahomes and kicker Matt Prater, but it wasn’t enough. The Juggs rode a Brock Purdy-to-Kittle 10-point connection (plus another 8 points total). Unfortunately, Kittle pulled a hamstring and could miss time, but both squads showed strong depth with plenty of points left on the bench.

Purdy and Kittle questionable next week

Krauts 25 – Cocktails 23

The Cocktails had a comfy 23-6 lead but couldn’t hold off the defending champs. Derrick “King Rat Tail” Henry’s two TDs closed the gap, and Vikings kicker Reichard sealed it with a pair of MNF field goals. Side note: Cocktails started rookie QB Daniels (4) over Jordan Love (8)…which would have been the difference. A short-term regret, but maybe the right call long-term.

The King showing no signs of slowing down

Iron Legion 47 – Killers 24

The Legion came out swinging with the week’s top score.  J.J. McCarthy (15), including a 10-point hookup with Justin Jefferson, led the charge. Add in TDs from Saquon Barkley and James Conner, and the Killers never stood a chance. A scary start for the rest of the league.

Impressive debut for the young signal caller

Whales 23 – Lunatics 17

The expansion Lunatics showed some fight, but in the end, it was QB Jalen Hurts who carried the Whales to victory with two rushing TDs. The Lunatics got all 17 from Kyler Murray and Harrison Butker, while the Whales’ WR corps failed to produce. Still, when you’re facing an expansion team, it didn’t matter this week.

Hurts back at it again for the Whales

๐Ÿ† Game of the Week

Chislers 41 – Wrecking Crew 32
A Sunday Night comeback powered by Josh Allen—already playing like he wants another MVP trophy.

๐Ÿ“Š Stat of the Week

The Iron Legion’s 47 points set the early bar for the league’s highest weekly score. Can anyone top it next week?

๐Ÿ’ชPlayer of the Week:

Josh Allen, QB, Chislers - 20 points

๐ŸˆWeek 2 games:

Wrecking Crew at Ferrets (-6)  Line doesn't seem right, take Crew plus the points

Chislers at Animals (+3)  Chislers easily cover

Warbirds at Bees (-2)  This could be a close one.  Take the points with the Warbirds

Dragons at Dominators (+5)  Rodgers get the start and the Dragons get the win, but not by more than 5

Sinistars at Cocktails (+4)  Cocktails getting points?  Take the Cocktails!

Juggernauts at Krauts (-1)  Defending champs at home in Berlin and only laying 1??  Take the Krauts to the bank

Killers at Lunatics (-4)  Killers bounce back and win outright.

Iron Legion at Whales (PK) Could be game of the week.  Take home team Whales.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Week 1 Power Rankings

It’s only Week 1, but here’s how the league stacks up after the opening games:

  1. Iron Legion (1-0) – A dominant 47-point debut makes them the early team to beat.

  2. Chislers (1-0) – Josh Allen looks unstoppable; comeback win sets the tone.

  3. Killer Bees (1-0) – Rookie Egbuka + RB firepower = dangerous balance.

  4. Krauts (1-0) – The champs survive a scare, but Henry still wears the crown.

  5. Juggernauts (1-0) – Solid depth and a Purdy-to-Kittle connection (injury watch).

  6. Warbirds (1-0) – Survived despite Burrow’s slow start. Bijan looks like the real deal.

  7. Animals (1-0) – Lamar and Jones carried the load, but questions linger.

  8. Whales (1-0) – Hurts bailed them out, WRs need to wake up.

  9. Wrecking Crew (0-1) – Tough loss despite a strong showing; no shame in falling to Allen.

  10. Sinistars (0-1) – Got all their points from Mahomes/Prater; need help elsewhere.

  11. Cocktails (0-1) – Wrong QB start cost them a win, but potential is there.

  12. Dominators (0-1) – Managed some highlights, but shaky prep shows.

  13. Dragons (0-1) – QB drama brewing already…Rodgers over Tua?

  14. Ferrets (0-1) – Moody Blues + lack of firepower = rough start.

  15. Killers (0-1) – Never in it against Legion’s fireworks.

  16. Lunatics (0-1) – Expansion growing pains; QB/K carried all the weight.
