Well we made it through the home and home series as we head for the home stretch of the regular season. The divisions are tightening up. Let's take a look at what happened in Week 8 of the CFFL!
In the North...The Wrecking Crew were able to avoid the sweep beating the Chislers 53-24. They were led by 14 points from Drake Maye and 18 meaningless points from D'Andre Swift. The win creates a three way tie in first place after the Ferrets dispensed the Animals 42-18. Lawrence led the team with 12 points including a 10 point connection to Brian Thomas Jr. (Death From Above). Animals now are 3-5 and their season could be in trouble. QB play has been their nemesis all season. This week Mayfield didn't complete a single pass!
In the South...This division is still a two team race between the Dominators and the Bees. The Killer Bees managed to avoid the sweep as well defeating the Dominators 31-21. Mahomes and "Routen" Tuten combined for 24 points in the win and are now 1 game back in the South. And in a game nobody cared about between the one win Stigmatas and Warbirds, the Stigmatas got their second win of the season winning 24-10 over the Warbirds. Didn't help that the Warbirds had 3 of their main players playing in the monsoon down in Tampa...
In the East...The past two weeks have seen some significant changes as the Sinistars are now a top of the division after the Krauts got swept by the Cocktails. The Cocktails beat the Krauts for the second time in a row 43-22. Smoking Joe Burrow was smoking hot, scoring 26 points in the win. The Cocktails are now 4-4 and in the hunt for a wild card playoff spot! After another trade, the Sinistars are quickly becoming one of the favorites to win it all. They won 42-29 over the Juggernauts behind the 10 point connection of Goff and Williams. Tee Higgins and Josh Jacobs both scored 2 times in the win as well. Dangerous team.
In the West...The Whales, two weeks ago, looked like they were going to run away with the division. But after two straight losses to the Lunatics, they only have a one game lead. Lunatics continue to lean on their Packers of Love, Golden and Smack "My Ass". Love had 12 points in the win...Iron Legion had an offensive explosion laying a 50-burger on the Killers 50-14. They were led by Josh Allen's 14 points and got TDs from 4 different players...
Player of the Week: Joe Burrow, QB, Cocktails - 26 points
